dodgy ebayer anyone know him

hi guys i think im being scammed by an ebayer ... last thurs i saw a full scorpion stainless system for sale ... so i made the guy an offer and he accepted .... closing the ebay auction ... i then sent him the money over paypal and he refunded it saying would i mind paying by bank transfer ...so he gave me his acc and sort code number and a mobile number to txt him back after the transfer .... so i txt him and he txt back saying he would post it this week ........ sent him a few txts with no reply ... so i rang him an the number isnt recognised :s ...... so i did some digging thru his ebay page an saw that he has not refunded a few ppl there money ..... so what now .. obviously its not cash in hand and there is a record with the bank transaction .... but i have only an account number and the name rich plus a email ...email@southcoastcosmetics.co.uk.????

any ideas guys ??

Yeah, you got scammed.

You could try telling your bank you transferred it to the wrong account by accident (or telling them the real story), they may be able to reclaim it for you but chances are the account's closed by now too.

Did you have a landline number or just a mobile?

Fraud just get the police involved, similar thing with a pal of mine and the guy responsible was arrested and is now due to appear in court :) :)

I had a similar problem on ebay. Was lucky to be able to get a chap who had sold the scammer an item to give me the address to which it was posted. Then had a friend visit the address and the problem was resolved.

awesome cheers guys , would be a result if i had an address .....ive logged onto the wifes ebay acount enquiring why the item was ended early as she was interested and is it still for sale ..... hopefully to leak some info off him unknowingly ...maye a different number :)

You'll be lucky if they show any interest IMO.

If he had that money transferred to a British bank account it will be traceable.

With respect mate, when making big purchases, do the digging first on the seller not after, you wouldve seen his feedback and got an idea what the dude was like.

I'm very particular who I buy off tbh, if they haven't got exceptional feedback I don't buy off them, been conned before with a 2nd hand phone off a Asian little ****, sent phone but it was nothing as described.

I thought they were separate companies TBH, scorpion are still about. Beowulf started up when scorpion took their orders elsewhere from the company in Halifax they used to have make them.


#googles# aha... news to me... akra used to be called skorpion (pre-1997), but started out doing systems, unlike scorpion who are over here and generally do slip on cans.
