My partner (todsky426 (http://forums.sv650.org/member.php?u=12845)) owns an SV and I'm his weekend passenger.
We've started to get a little bit adventurous with journeys on the bike I.E Devils Bridge, Penrith, Lake district but I was just wondering if anybody recommends any places we can go?
We're located at Bolton and we're sick of the everyday senery!
Also we LOVE camping so if there's any good camping spots? :)

Get over to the north east, the scottish borders. Absolutely marvellous. Only did it the once so cannot give specific places to go. Started off near Kielder, Hawick, St Mary's Loch, Megget reservoir , Moffat
Buy a map and have a look round that area

Thanks! :)
We was up Penrith last weekend and the scenery was amazing so I can imagine it only gets better in Scotland.

Pop up to the yorkshire dales there's a great road between ingleton and hawes, 40 mins up the M6 and then your pretty much on decent roads! I'm tapping this on my phone at the moment I'll post a route/map up later

Start of with coming up to see us up north on the weekend of the 6th - 8th of July. Look in sv ecosse for details. You get the double bonus of good roads and meeting some lovely people.
Once you've done Scotland once on the bike you'll want to come for a week and see even more.
But bring skin so soft to fight the midges off.

Avon skin so soft....better against midges than any other form of repellent sold anywhere in the world...lol.
Anyhooo, have you thought about getting over to North Wales for a weekend or longer? The roads and scenery are amazing and the road surfaces through Wales are some of the best in the UK with endless beautiful bends :-)

Sounds good to me! :)
I can imagine it's a sweet drive up to Scotland but it'll be the furthest we will have gone and my **** will be numb as anything - it sucks!
Few stop offs along the way and it should be cool.
We may even stay over for a few days!

We was meant to go up Wales for the day on Sunday but unfortunately we got a puncture! :'(
So we've not had chance to get up there but hopefully this weekend we will do up North Wales!
Is there any particular route thats the best? :)

Have a look in the top left of the screen, under the logo and click on private messages. There will be a menu on the left and one of the menus on the left will be Private Messages. Click on send new message and type the name Luckypants in the to field. You will see a little drop down menu, if you just click on Luckypants, it will autofill and then just click behind the semicolon and do the same for Badger.
Neither have ever failed to be anything other than amazingly lovely and helpful, so go for it...they will give you nothing but good advice.
Hope that helps :-)

Luckypants is away at the moment.
As for North Wales it depends how many miles you can endure as a pillion if it's a day trip :) You've got about 120 miles of boring roads getting there and back but happy to suggest roads and a route though.
Alternatively you're spoiled for choice with campsites in and around Snowdonia. Unfortunately can't recommend any as it's on my doorstep and never camped out that way, but if you base yourself around Bala then you've endless good routes to choose from throughout North and Mid Wales (again depending on mileages you'd want to cover in a day).

Thanks to both of you anyway :)
Yeah, well we covered 330 miles last weekend and yes my bum was killing but it was all worth it, I guess stopping off every so often isn't so bad. Roughly it'll take us an hour to get to Northern Wales (50+) miles so it's not HAT bad. We just want to find a nice place to camp (rough camping as we will be allowed a campfire) we've never been up Wales on the bike so we're hesitant where to go

Bolton to the GMV run (it's in SW Scotland this year) will take you less than 3 hours each way including fuel and loo stops. That's easy, see you's there!

It doesn't seem that bad then, think its worth staying over their for the night? My bum gets the ache of doom!
do a different area each time. Best to plan to head somewhere and spend the days exploring the area for nice roads 8) that's my plan later on in the year!

Yeah, I agree with you on that one! :)
We're just not sure which roads are best to take because let's face it if the journey is more than 50% of motorway it kinda' kills the whole ride out - I fall asleep on the motorway!
if you like rough camping then i know just the place. you could make a long weekend of it by staying at keilder then onto tummel and back down to st marys then home and i can guarantee you will love it. only one night staying completely rough though.

I'd say so, aye - its cheap enough at the GAC we're booked into, esp if you're camping. Plus, you'd have the option of a nice windy run home on the Sunday too...
