Yamaha SR125 Tyres & Tank - advice!

My current bike is a Yamaha SR125 (totally customised by me)

The previous owned tried to go for the old 'dirt trails' look which I must admit looked good but it was what I would call [COLOR="Olive"]Army[/COLOUR] green. I've changed the colour scheme to glossy black and that's including the rims, tank, frame, mudguards, side panels and headlight.

There's only one problem:
My straight handle bars (more comfy for my style) are gold! So now I'm stuck whether to go for black and gold colour scheme or get a new set of bars?
P.S the tank is plain - no stickers, logo or anything so I could play around with it as much as I like.

Another bit I'm stuck on is my tires! One tire is nobbly and the other is a standard road tire. If I keep the trials look should I get them BOTH nobbly or should I have them both standard road tires?

Please give your honest opinions :)

Lol, you changed from American to British halfway through your bbcodes.

For the tyres it depends on Where you want to ride the bike, if it's purely road use go with road tyres, if you want to Greenland as well go with hybrids, I'm not sure full off roaders are legal on the road.

Colour wise would be easier to say with a pic, not a fan of black and gold myself although it can look okay if the gold is limited.

I'll try to take a picture when it's re assembled :) ive only got one of its green colour which is horrible! :(

my advice for what it's worth.

don't spend any more that you have to on that bike to keep it road worthy and put the rest towards your full licence and a bigger bike.

The only problem is that it's my first ever bike! And I want to keep it for sentimental reasons :) so I want to do it up good and proper.

The law is changing I January anyway so I wont be able to get a 650 or anything like that so I will have to take a numerous amount of tests to get to that stage :(

another top tip, don't get sentimental about bikes as it usually ends in tears. they are transport fun transport but transport all the same and nothing more.

Agree with Bibio, they get dropped, crashed, nicked and left outside all year, well mine does :) and your's is an sr 125, ok it may not be nicked :rolleyes:
