SV nicknames?

I've noticed that quite a few people have a few girl names for their SV - My boyfriends being Suzy

Is this the same for everyone? :roll:

So, to answer your question, sometimes... Not everyone names their bikes and not all are called female names.
Most famous ones for the South West & Surfers was Boris and Boris II, both ridden by a male member off here.

The field I spent last weekend in at the AR was the last place I saw him, had a quiet moment of reflection on that and a quiet drink too.

As for not knowing who he is - well this is how the legend that he was continues :)

We had the chrome letters on the frame saying SUZY but they came off within time

Our fleet are all given Female names, appart from my old CG125 (by the way Soulkiss, Ground anchor is just mean to a very sweet natured bike!) which had a male name.

My SV is called Sylvie, this is because she is Silver, a Suzuki SV and a V-Twin, thus Sil-Vee. It took me minutes to think that up!

My old XJ Maxim is called Agnes because that is what the number plate sort of reads.

Carol's ZRX is named Noreen after her Nan, because the inheritance Carol got when her Nan passed away had to be used to buy something that made Carol happy, it was what her Nan wanted and in this way, she is still close to us.

Then we come to the GTR1000 Rat bike project that is called Rosie, well it was as good a name as any for a rose coloured bike. ;-)

I'm certain of it Phil! Its such a great machine when its working, selling it will be a doddle cos they're still in such silly demand.

Only reason mines not two wheels sent from heaven is me! Im the reason, the bike cannot be held to blame. If I stopped fecking about with stuff and just left it it'd be fine but I've just got the need to fettle.

As I've said to others though that's it now with this bike, I'm going to set it back to the known working set up and just use it, I'll keep it clean and keep on top of the maintenance but I'm just going to ride it until I'm ready to sell. I've got to do it that way really if I ever want to be able to build the other one. I need one to be set up running and reliable so that I can take my time over the project bike.

Bernard Biker Chick's was named by me and Monkey. Wahoo Spunkbubble. Wahoo because it's a type of fish that is blue, pointy, takes no nonsense from any of the big fish and is very sleek and fast. Spunkbubble because, well just because that is Monkey for you!

SV650 was "The Pointy" or "Pointy".
Fazer is "Bluey" or "Two-Wheeled Bluey" (to distinguish from four-wheeled Bluey, the cage)
