Interested in an offer of a cheap day trip on the ferry, but it would actually be a two week holiday, departing and returning from different ports with different ferry companies. On the way out I'd just buy the day trip, but only take the outbound journey. Is there anything to stop you doing this? ie: if you don't turn up for the return crossing, do they charge your credit card with the full fare?

I doubt it, but a silly question, why don't you ask the ferry company to be sure ?

Probably not but it wouldn't surprise me. If you get off a train a stop earlier than what your ticket says and you have your ticket checked you can get fined for it.

LOL - How would that conversation go? "Hi, I want to cost you some money and commit fraud by intentionally breaking the terms and conditions of one of your special offers, would you let me get away with it or not?"

I'm sure you can do this with Mersey ferries.

I cant understand why you can't just ask them

Why is it fraud?

You don't have to give a name if you are worried about asking them a legitimate question.

OK, I'll phone up and ask them. If anybody asks, my real name is John Smith ;-)

Not about ferries, but years ago a friend of mine always got her American friends to book her flights for her because flights booked in America were much cheaper than flights booked in Europe for the same flight. Probably not actually relevant thinking about it because this was pre 9-11 when the rules were much more relaxed.
