Please tell me he's on the left side of that, not the right. I'll go up most climbing walls but overhangs don't agree with me!

Say what you like, if I want to climb something that tall and that over hanging, I would rather do it on real rock. Great Overhanging Wall at Wintour's Leap (http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=51) springs to mind, but no where will ever fill me with as much terror as climbing on either The Fang at Tremadog (http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/crag.php?id=221) or Baw's Crawl (http://www.ukclimbing.com/logbook/c.php?i=10197) at Stanage! :D

Never mind hanging on when its windy, can you imagine the wobble that structure has, when there's a bit of a gust?
Be like Rolf Harris's wobble board!

But you'll never be able to put any of them in your back garden.
I wonder how big a bribe I'd need for the planning officers.

Ha ha, yeah, sounds like you know it. I had two goes climbing that route. The first time my friend led the first pitch and went off route, making it seriously hard. The second time, I led it and found the first pitch to be glorious, however my partner could not make the first terrifying move and I had to retreat!
But you'll never be able to put any of them in your back garden.
But I like the travelling to far off places, just so I can spend hours with a tooth brush cleaning chalk off one hold, only to put it back on when I grab the hold again! :laughat:

Oh, I see your point! Bare in mind though, a good climb does not have to be a hugely tall epic. How many people here have given the tiny Sandstone edge in Bristol a go? Fifteen feet of super hard climbing on a wall no more than thirty feet wide? What about the Plantation at Stanage? There are many worthy walls or boulders that are not that big and give a hugely enjoyable climb. :D
I have worked as the chief instructor on a couple of indoor Climbing walls and I have to be honest, I don't like climbing plastic (or concrete come to that. Don't visit the climbing wall in Swindon, the concrete wall polished in the first two weeks of opening!), I like climbing rock. I am aware that this makes me a climbing fascist, but at least I don't still use a fifty year old Whillans Harness, like I caught one old timer doing in my wall once! :laughat:
Climbing walls never did owt for me. Much prefered the real thing. Mind you, I was only hauling 10st then...
That first move on a overhang was always a test of bottle, especially if free climbing.
