Diablo III?

I've been getting more and more people telling me I should buy Diablo III because apparently it's 'my kind of game' but that means I'd have to buy myself a decent PC to play it on which will set me back quite a few pound because I doubt it would work on my HP laptop with 2GB RAM and 190GB Harddrive plus I hate gaming on laptop unless it's minecraft.

Any advice on what PC I should get and SHOULD I get Diablo III?

No - That's the problem.
I've played WoW before but it'd annoy me if I haven't played 1 and 2 which means I'd buy them as well (I have too much time on my hands)

I'd buy one of the first two to begin with, it'll probably only set you back a pound or two from ebay or I'd offer to post you my copy.

I have been playing Diablo 3, I got it free by signing up to a year of WoW :)

Its OK - did you like Diablo 2? Its more of the same but prettier :)

My rig is an Intel i5 with 16GB RAM (8 gig is never used but RAM was cheap), a 60GB SSD to boot off of, 2x500GB SATA drives striped to give 1TB and 2xGTX460's in SLI (MSI Factory overclocked Talon Attacks)

Works nicely on my Dell 24" 1920x1200 res monitor :)

Speaking of Minecraft, just found out my eldest Nephew plays minecraft (actually so does his little brother, but on his mums iPad - I'd disown my sister if I could :p)

So I spent a little while at the weekend setting up a multiplayer server so that we can play together when he gets back from his holiday :)

You can pick up Diablo 2 for cheap, install it on your laptop and see if you like the "click like mad to attack everything" gameplay, if you do, Diablo 2 may be of interest.

Let me check if my Diablo 3 comes with a Guest Pass, if it does you can use it to try for 7 days I think.

You are into computers and the internet in general, you'll know where you can get a copy of D2 from.
You just wont be able to play it online with others, but you could play it on LAN with friends, and it will run on ancient machines.

Playing in a team is the idea, on your own gets old after a while.

for 3 theres a freeplay demo.

1 and 2 are old enough that you could easily play them on any PC and will be dirt cheap by now.

It's very much more of the same from the previous games, with the added bonus of needing a constant internet connection to play it.

I played through the beta both solo and with a friend, and that was enough for me.

Set up a temporary WAN/VPN connection and you're good to go!
If anyone wants to do a D2 run over VPN from level 1 to diablo's death - then let me know id be well up for it :)

Looks great, but having played Diablo 1 and 2 to death, plus Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, mindless hack and slash doesn't do it for me anymore.

Okay well if I pick up a copy (possibly be able to get it free because I'm good at haggling) then we will team up :D

I just hope it's not a stressfull game becaise I have bad rage at times... I nearly hung a noose over my neck when I first played Dark Souls!

Try a Sorc, Assassin, or Amazon :)

I'm converting WHEN the new CoD comes out - it looks absolutely horrible!
I prefer MW1 (CoD4) And WaW and that's it. I only play MW3 now because I have no other games that I can be fussed playing.

theres two plastic tabs at the edge of the console which jut in on the UK model, japanese games get blocked by these tabs but UK games fit the jap console just fine, its just they leave a little gap at the points where the plastic tabs would be.

The main vital thing everybody knows when owning a mega drive is if the game doesn't load up.. Blow the cartridge!

I have a two stage tactic, the first is blowing the cart (and blowing the contacts inside the megadrive), the second is to plce the cart so it's almost in and then give it a bang with the flat of my hand to make a good contact.



Word of advice, never let a dog chew the wire for the controller, they aren't colour coded and it takes ages to get them back together :D

Buy torchlight 2. You can play it on a nettop and its better than diablo.

You get forthright 1 for free until 2 comes out in July and it cost me 12 quid
