Basically came across this and thought it was important to share.

I'm neither happy or surprised by this but the plans kinda ruin the track for me.
Out of boredom I'm going to make my own track changes and compare them and ill post it soon. As I assume some sort of safety changes are defiantly going ahead.

Actually I like the new plans.

GHB is a bit rubbish, easy to drop it there, especially in wet, and just an annoying corner. The proposed one will have a longer run from Druids so more overtake (making exit from Druids even more important) on the brakes to new corner although I'd have preferred the left to open onto Cooper straight (although that would have moved the straight quite a bit) rather than a right kink

Not sure I like it either - I'd want to keep one of the key features of the track and not have a proper straight on the indy part. If it were feasible, I'd want a similar shape to the proposal, but opened up much further. I suspect it might be a quick one though, which ignores the reason for making the changes...

If they made the loop larger they could kink it the other way.

I like these plans, these will offer many more photo taking opportunities as down at GHB the are virtually no places to do so.

my basic attempt at what i think would work best i think there no need for another hairpin druids is great because if where it is.
GHB just needs tightening up so is slower in and slower out it seems they want safer racing the main reason are because alot of rider crash and end up on the racing line so here my view no need for super tight corner just a lit tighter. Atleast now if they highside they will be safe off the track.http://i1110.photobucket.com/albums/h452/Mikeyyart10/alternatechange.jpg

You get a lot of highsides coming out of GHB - especially in the club races so tightening it possibly not the best choice. I'm quite happy with it how it is, but the news plans don't see too bad.

Bugger.

I really wanted to do a sub-60 second lap of the indy circuit.

I won't have a chance to go this year, and next year it'll be an ever so slightly bigger ask with the extra tarmac :|

Still, it'll be a new challenge, I'll just get on with it and then bore anyone who'll listen about how they ruined it for decades to come, regardless of whether I secretly like it :D

Unfortunately hairpins are something I do badly, I quite like GHB

I like GHB as it is, slighlty off camber, always good for getting the rear end twitching in a car thats for sure. Never ridden Brands. Well never done a bike track day.

i read somewhere else that the reason is not to reduce highside because they could'nt possiable do that but if a highside was to occur they would be off the track instead as main highsides recently the rider has been thrown back on track.

Leave it alone !!! its one of the few tracks left that hasn't been buggerd about with too much.
