Ok, i have had my new SV a a couple of months, and despite the sh***y weather enjoying it. Running better over time and smoother mid-range. I have got fed up with lugging my helmet around when i go shopping and am thinking top-box. Any ideas on best set up. I know I need a rack. I want the box to be durable. What are the best makes. How does the box fit to the rack - proprietry fitting (box and rack same manufacturer?), generic fitting?
Cheers!

SW-motech Alu rack and plate. Top box attaches to plate. Simple and quick to fit and remove top box.

Or use the helmet hanger hooks under the pillion seat?

Knowing which bike you have would help others make suggestions.

the lead post says from new now 2 months old. signature says SV650s. is suppose this makes it a k10? certainly pointy, semi-faired.

I've used both suzuki original topbox and fitting and a DIY aero bolted through a spare seat 52ltr nonfango special

Seriously - buy this http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=180815

NOW!

They're stonkingly good top box racks (made in Germany) and look SO much better than the Givi arms trailing all over the bike.

I've had one for a few years, gets used everyday and is perfect.

£65 is a chuffing bargain!

Wasn't sure if you meant new new, or new to you. Such things are best made perfectly clear.

Depends how rough the area you're parking up in is, but with the pillion seat or cowl locked back in place the helmet can't be removed, or not without cutting the chin strap in which case the helmet would be facked anyway :) I done it loads with mine.. NB it'll seem a right fit & needs a waggle of your helmet to lock it in place with the seat (ooh errr)
