View Full Version : Newbie Hello while broken down by Farringdon Tube Station
So, a puncture in my non-tubeless rental YBR 125, in the wet, has left me waiting for the AA to recover me.
I am taking this opportunity to say hello to the SV community!
I can sit in Starbucks thinking about the Gladius I can not yet ride while completing my DAS and the joys of tubeless tyres.
While I am posting would anyone recommend a Breakdown agency that has some fidelity to riders rather than reacting with shock that I am calling about a 2 wheeled vehicle?
Or is the grumpy AA service centre the best I can expect?
.... Anyway, :smt041 to the SV community and I would rather be a Broken down SV owner than in an air-conditioned BMW, any day of the week.

Rescuemybike.com do good cover, and they use local motorbike specific agents. I have used them a number of times and they have always been very good.
Oh and welcome - shame about the puncture. got one in my rear tyre a few months back. cost £140 for a new one grrr, was only half worn too!

Welcome, sorry to hear about your breakdown.
I am with the RAC, they always seem nice even though I don't have a car.

I'm with RAC and last time I called them they quoted 3 hours to send a van who would then have to call for a trailer which would also take an age. In the end I rode home in only 2nd ad 3rd gear.
Welcome to the Org. Are you London based? If so make sure you get to Soho soon, even if it's on the tube.
I have the best of both worlds. An SV, and an air conditioned BMW car.

Welcome to the loony bin and good luck with the DAS. We're with the RAC, but we've only had to call them out for the car so far so can't comment on their bikefriendlyness (and that's a real word, you know).

How doo
I've dealt with these via a 3rd party (Swinton Bike roadside) http://www.sos-motorcycle-recovery.co.uk/
I rate them over RAC and AA where everything is chargeable with a motorcycle
