Hi all,

Just a bit confused with this, I am in need of running a 530 front sprocket on my kart project (due to the rear sprocket being 530 and the only size for the spec) I know that my engine (carbed model) has a 525 chain, so was looking around to find what other sprockets might fit.

I am guessing that Suzuki sprockets should have the same spline and are interchangable? Anyway, I was looking around and found the below ebay item - as well as a few others with the same spec. Its an OEM SV650 03-06 front sprocket but its running a 530 chain, were the later models running 530 sprockets?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/03-04-04-05-06-SUZUKI-SV-650-OEM-FRONT-SPROCKET-16-T-530-/150748399371?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item23194e070b

I am just wondering as if the later models did run a 530 chain I can simply just get a later model front sprocket to make everything work.

Not sure about the later sv's, but it can't see 72hp justifying a 530 chain... Also in his eBay ad it says for a 03-06 SV. Which are 525 chain.

I know the 600 bandit uses a 530 chain. But couldn't tell you if the splines would match up or not. Might be easier to change the rear to suit? Would be a bit lighter on a kart...

Hmm ok, it might just be a misprint on the advert, I had a look at other specs on Suzuki sprockets ie the spline size and there are others that are the same so it might be the case that most sprockets will fit ok. I have had to go with a 530 rear sprocket as that is all thats really available for the specs and size I need, I can't use the OEM bike sprocket on my kart due to the much smaller wheels - top speed with the OEM sprockets would be around 45 in 6th lol
