Last mot i got an advisory for my front discs being slightly warped. Although there is something slightly odd, there isnt any pulsing in my brake lever, it only happens at slow speed or light braking. Is this a warped disc or something else. Ive given the discs and calipers a good clean and theres still plenty meat in my pads. And its a k6 pointy
Whats the run out figures.

I haven't got any run out figs, and i spose this would tell me for sure. Oh well i'd better take a trip to my friendly mechanic. Thanks fellas

I've got a warped disc that I keep meaning to fix, I don't get a pulsating really, I just feel the bike stopping in a stepped fashion when it slows down, high speed you can't tell. Just the last 20-30ft coming to a stop you can feel it.
Sounds similar to what you are experiencing so I'd say its warped.
If you can free the front wheel of the ground you might feel it or hear it catch the pads .

Brettus - thats exactly how mine is - I think its warped too, just wanted to be sure before I fork out for new discs. Ntec - got an abba stand but no front lifter, gonna have to find a front paddock stand or a bottle jack and bit of wood. Just thought a warped disc would make my brake lever pulse. Anyway new discs it is.
Thanks again guys

FYI, the last two people to come to me claiming a warped disc were wrong, what they took to be well serviced calipers were indeed clean, just not as free moving as they should be, correcting this solved the problem, if you can't push the pistons back with one finger they are binding to a degree.
Cheers Mark.
If you get it up apply your brake hard. it should release quickly and turn smooth will just a very slight rubbing sound..
If it catches you have a high spot.
If its dragging your end up with a warped disc because of heat .
That is what Ricktus Is saying .
It will also become permanent if you don't free the brakes
