View Full Version : Halfords Cracking Offer

Not sure if this particular one has been covered but they're currently offering a cracking deal on their tool chests/cabinet combo's.
In their industrial range the tool 6 draw tool cabinet is £319, and the matching 6 Draw Chest is normally £260 however they're currently offering the chest for FREE if you buy the cabinet. See my Cart1 below:
http://forums.sv650.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=11045&stc=1&d=1342008346
If £320 is still a little bit too much to justify spending on a Cabinet and Chest set then how about their professional range, they have a similar offer on the £249 5 Draw Cabinet, with matching 7 draw chest. Normally costing an additional £149 they're giving those for free with the cabinet. Again, see Cart2:

Anyway these seemed too good not to share, I've been down in person and the offer doesn't exist in store its only online. I've inspected the quality of the two differing sets and the industrial range is definitely worth the extra £70, the draws are bent sheet steel, as opposed to flush. They're strong and robust with a much smooth glide on the sliders. A couple of draws on the professional range in store were buckled/dented but the industrial range seemed untouched.
I dont know how long this offer will last... I've arranged my collection for tonight :thumbs

Cool, I was thinking about getting a new cabinet.
Didn't like the cheapo Halfrauds ones, but those ones are ok

Don't forget, if you register a credit card through Quidco you'll get up to another 3% cashback when you buy online or pay at the store

ive just been down and bagged me one of the professional sets,
i can see the industrial are better, but 249 is enough of an outlay considering how much use it will get, great deal though, thanks for highlighting it !!

No worries,
If I were just adding the odd mods or generally maintaining one bike then I suspect the pro set is more than a match for me to last a life time. As it is though I've got one project bike on the go, another in various bits - learning more about engines on a regular basis and if Im honest Im very heavy handed so decided the industrial was the better option for me.
Glad you benifited from me posting it though :smt023
Oh man. I don't NEED them, but I WANT them.

Hmm, do I need a 5th set..
These should be once in a lifetime purchases right?

Yeah.
I'm sort of counting on it been buy it once now then never need to buy one again.
Pop into a store and take a look at the industrial stuff, it'll take some hammer before you kill it.
The pro set looked well enough, but I could see where the the additional £70 had been spent on the industrial range. £250 is a good price for the pro set but £320 for the black unit seemed too good to pass up, put myself on their mailing list for all future offers and got my self a further £10 off as well.

I've two pro's and two industrials. They are all good stuff, but the industrials have the edge. Drawers dont grumble when crammed with nuts and bolts, always open straight etc.
I went in there today to have a look. Considering they'd been on the shelf in a shop the pro stuff was looking quite sorry for itself and I could only open two drawers of the industrial stuff which is odd in itself.
I'm going to have a good long think about it.

That could be because its been locked, but it will only lock the drawers that were fully closed when the key was turned.
To find out slam one shut and if it wont come back out, thats the case

if i try that shes likely to have a good look round the garage and notice all the other shiny thats "been there ages"
i have primed her that ive bought a new tool box, but she probably expects it to be one similar to the ones the moustachiod dutch man carries when he knocks on the door to fix the washing machine in my films.............

well its no different to the "ive bought a new dress" line they feed us.
We assume its £20 primark but in reality if we checked the label Im sure we'd realise it could do with another zero on that figure.
If in doubt you could at least say you got the red chest because it was prettier... might work.

That or paint one draw pink and tell her she can use it for tampons and the like.

Appears to be the halfords professional gear mentioned in the OP. This one apparently is only 2 months old and comes with a LOAD of tools!
Username of seller suggests a woman. Now, I'm in no way sexist and i'm sure many women have an extensive tool kit BUT, some of the tool names are mis spelt (hake saw, guessing hack saw) in a way that someone who new what the tools where wouldn't have done.
Add to that the recent feedback of the seller and I suspect a scorned ex gf or wife trying to take revenge?....
Whadaya reckon?

Not with that feedback.
Not with that feedback.
Ha ha, no way I'm considering buying it. Just wondered if anyone else thinks she could be a bunny boiler trying to get even? Maybe not but the thought made me chuckle.

Thats gutting for who ever wins, hopefully its none of you lot.
When/if i get a garage, then a roller cab will be the order of the day but until then, this is pointless for me as i have to carry my tool box through the house from the shed. I have a Machine Mart 3 drawer which suits my needs and another tool box with the larger tools and a selection of hammers.

It doesn't matter what you get, you will never have enough room.
I have 7 drawer roll cab, 3 drawer intermediate and 9 drawer chest. Plus a separate cantilever box for my old imperial stuff. Yet I need 6ft cupboards for power tools and all the other junk.
