Below are details of an event I am helping to organise. Shooting Star Hospice look after life limited children and their families and this sponsored ride finishes up at Lord's Cricket Ground, hence my involvement.
I've been working with the charity for a few years now and when the kids visit Lord's and you hear their stories it puts our every day stupid gripes and niggles into perspective. Most of the children won't make it to their 19th birthdays and every year when I ask about children who came to Lord's the year before there are always a couple who are no longer with us.
So if any of the cyclists on here would like to join up and take part then that would be fabulous. I will sponsor anyone who does it from the Org.

Info from the fundraising manager:
It gives me great pleasure to invite you to get involved in Shooting Star CHASE’s latest challenge, ‘The Hospice to Hospice Bike Ride’. This exciting new event will link our two hospices, Christopher’s in Guildford to Shooting Star House in Hampton before moving on to the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in St John’s Wood, courtesy of the MCC to whom we are very grateful.
Our goal is to recruit one cyclist for every family we care for, some 600 who find themselves in unimaginable circumstances – please help us to continue the vital care we provide them and their children.
If you have a bike and want to ride the 40, 24 or 16 mile route then please register today. If you aren’t up to peddling all that way but want to help then please volunteer. We need marshalls, registration and refreshment staff so please contact Emma Willshire to register your support – details below).
Most importantly, we need your help in raising awareness of this new event so please do email, tweet and Facebook all your friends, family and colleagues – every saddle counts!
