Ahead of my weekend away I just said to Mr LPH that I was going to wash my helmet inner as it was a bit grubby with make up and hair serum.

His reply was that he "needed to wash his helmet before we got to Wales as it smells of sheep". Er... should I be concerned? :smt107

An appropriate question actually, what's the best way to wash helmet inner bits? Soak in warm water?

I just did mine by hand in washing liquid for delicates and wool. Then rinsed with a tiny bit of fabric conditioner. Spin in the machine then into the conservatory to air dry.

I used to have this kind of problem when I was a teenager :)

I read years ago to use Johnsons baby shampoo, so I do. But I'm a stinky herbert and hardly ever do it

Just don't put MR LPH's helmet in the machine

OUCH

Yes, even more so if you use hair products besides shampoo, gel, hairspray etc

The best cleaning product for your crash helmet is the same shampoo you use, just be aware it'll take more than a day to dry completely, do not force dry
