Riding home 11:30pm.
Dark road, couldn't see the BLACK brick that was in the road (kind of like a big rock).
Went straight over it at 55mph, got, what I believe to be some impressive air under both wheels.
Stopped at the side of the road with a couple of my buddies having felt the flat tyre, only to check and see two buckled rims.
So, half hour on hold to the RAC and not a real person in earshot, just some recorded message that was persistently thanking me for being patient...
At which point, my limited patience ran out, borrow my friends bike, rode home (at this point I was thinking of going to bed but thought it bad sportsmanship to leave him at the side of the road with his bike at mine)
Got in my car with paddock stands, spare rims (lucky I had those eh?) and all the necessary bits and bobs.
Forty fives minutes of changing the wheels very slowly and stopping every five minutes to curse whoever lobbed a brick in the road. Followed by a drive home, at which point, the heavens decide to open (so bad that drains have burst open and there was significant flooding around here this morning.)
Got on his bike (in the now ****ing rain) rode back to where my bike and friends were, returned said bike and rode mine home.
After all this faffing it's not 2:15am and I'm severely tired and drenched. Not a happy bunny.
Lucky escape? Possibly...still a bit peeved at the two buckled rims though!
