Do you think riding a motorbike burns calories?
I reckon so. After all, not only do you have the physical aspects of controlling 200 or so kgs but also the brain power required for concentration must also mean you need more fuel. Also I'd imagine the stress levels (dealing with fellow road users) bring your heart rate up quite a bit, which again means you're burning more calories.

Obviously it's not going to be the same as a proper workout but I do think it is a workout to an extent.

Personally after a long ride I do feel quite exhausted; mainly mentally but physically too.

I'd reckon so. I know heaving my lump of metal around does wonders for my arm muscles. Apparently you should tense your stomach while riding, i.e. gripping with your legs not tensing your arms which is meant to be better for you too.

250 calories an hour you say? So a day's worth of riding is akin to excercise...minus the obligatory snacks and cake that are added int' mix...oh bugger, I'll stick to walking the 6 miles to work and back then

Sleeping burns calories. So yes biking does too.

Sleeping burns about 60-70 calories per hour

After the amount of junk I ate and drank with some of the Org this weekend the 140 mile ride won't have dented the calories. I'd have to do the Dakar rally twice at least to burn it off.

LOL that's the trouble with biker cafes...

I thought I made a half decent choice going for a chicken cesar salad wrap on Saturday... until I saw the chicken was deep fried and dripping in dressing

Eat loads of celery it has a negative carlories, which means it takes more energy to eat and process it, so you don't get energy out it!

Try green laning on a dirt bike, that is fecking exhausting, I'm a builder so burn off quite a few calories on some jobs but I'm more tired after green laning that's for sure.
