Last night coming home from Chris8886's on the Baby Beemer I can hear a strange rattling sound coming from one side of the bike. Since I've only had it 2 weeks I was concerned by this but the bike felt OK so I carried on as I didn't fancy stopping on the hard shoulder of the M25.

Got home, nothing obviously loose or amiss. Still a bit concerned by the rattly metallic sound I'd been hearing.

After a well deserved beer I unloaded the bike and opened up the crammed full panniers to sling my clothes in the washing machine, only to see the loose bottom of the cake tin I'd used to transport the carrot cake up to Paul the 6th's had worked it's way free inside the tin.

For God's sake, all that worrying on the motorway and it was a bleeding cake tin vibrating! Glad I didn't stop and call the RAC!

:stupid:

An empty cake tin, is an unhappy cake tin. Add cake.

RAC man 'Madam It appears you have an empty cake tin' take it to your nearest dealer and get it filled. There's a Greggs nearby, just for emergencies like this' ;)

It's empty because Paul the 6th is now full of carrot and banana cake with a cream cheese topping.

Touratech probably sell cake carriers for £670 each.

Funnily enough, BMW make their engines from old cake tin lids ;)

I thought that was what they made Ducati clutches out of...

I'm also not suprised that Pt6 has a Cream Cheese topping now - he's a funny sort.

I thought you were going to say your BMW branded genuine accessory zimmer frame had worked loose from its mountings.

I read the op with trepidation after my speedway style drifting shenanigans on the BM at the ice cream parlour! Was about to reach for my credit card and phone to say "just let me know how much the repair work is..."

Never again lol
