I've been speaking to Colin Overland the editor of Ride about an idea he's got.
"Travellers' tales – what REALLY happens on tour" is the working title.
The idea is that the most interesting stories arising from tours (near or far) aren't to do with the riding, they're to do with the crashing, and the arguments with border guards, curious meals, drunken skinny dipping, jobs in bars, scary insects and bizarre meetings in the middle of the jungle with someone who went to school with your brother.
Good things, bad things – so long as they're interesting.
Motorcycle magazines and motorcycle adventure books tend to gloss over all that stuff, but I reckon a compilation of these stories would make a fantastic book/supplement/one-shot/something."
So if any of you have any really good examples first hand then let me know. If you have pictures to go with it then even better.
