Hi guys and gals.
I'm Danny, a complete noob to biking. After several years of umming and ahhing and my wife telling me she'd leave me if i got a bike, I've finally taken the plunge and passed my test last week. After quite a bit of research into choices of first bike I've gone and got myself an SV650...which leads me here. Hopefully it'll turn out to be a good choice (i'm probably in the wrong place to be told otherwise). When i say I've got it, i pick it up in 2 weeks when i'm back off my hols so I'll have to be patient.
I haven't really much to say, just wanted to introduce myself. Is there anything to watch out for on the SV, i'm led to believe they're pretty bulletproof?
Fingers crossed anyway
Danny
P.s my wife hasn't left me :)

Hi Danny,
Im really sorry to hear that, maybe in heinsight it would have been better to get her to fill in a written agreement some form of legally binding "Bike = Divorce" contract maybe?
At least its not all bad news you do at least now have an SV, perhaps that will be enough to entice a young women and be the catalyst for shedding that excess martial weight.
So alas all is not lost, your wife may still leave you! In the mean time you keep your chin up mate. There are plenty of people on here who you can go for a ride with who may offer a sympathetic shoulder, welcome to the Org.

Thanks for the support Owenski, it's brought a tear to my eye!
I'm keen to get out on the thing now, i might have forgotten how to ride by the time i get it.

Welcome dude :)
Most women come round to biking in the end, persuade them with shoes and handbags if they are being stubborn, that normally works.
Enjoy the new ride and keep it shiny side up.

Welcome
My missus was the same, parents were not happy but we have 1 life, do stuff you enjoy. Take your time, ride as safe as you can.
I think at the start they think you will crash every ride out. After a few hopefully crash free months you should be fine. Enjoy the bike ..... and don't crash in the first few months :D
