I was reading up on a favourite website of mine and there was a few questions that made me think hmmmm.
Is there any questions you know that can't be answered yet make you think?
E.G.
Did Adam and Eve have navels?
Do nudists have pin-ups of people with clothes on?
How far can you travel into space... where does it stop?

If you keep on travelling east, when will you reach the east? And what will lie east of you then? (east is replaceable with west / north / south)

I've got a fair bit of work on at the moment (note fewer posts). and lets for example say I've got 7.5hrs work to do in my 7.5hr day, my dead lines don't change I've still got that amount to get done so any distaractions mean I must either work harder or longer in order to meet said deadline. HOWEVER I spend EASILY 45min-1hr a day stood over her telling her simple junior level **** about a job she's meant to have been doing longer than I've been breathing, do I get any slack for the time spent helping her? do I feck, and what happens if I dont help? She crys then I get agro for not just helping her in the first place.
So you answer my earlier queston cos I certainly cant... why does she still have a job here?

And I bring you important answers to important questions*

Same style mouse!
Also,
How does my brain decide the importance of information to remember?
Today I've recalled, on demand answers to the following questions:
"When you built the servers 18 months ago, what non-standard ports were the RPC calls restricted to?"
"What make of brake pads did Lozzo reckon were used by many as OEM fitment"
And yet, my wedding anniversary, and birthdays of my family flitter in and out of my wandering mind. Why?

space is thought to be finite but unbounded like the surface of a balloon, so in a sense it never ends, it just wraps round on itself.
The surface of the earth also has no ends like a balloon its just space achieves it in an extra dimension.
Theres several ways to do the jelly thing, the least damaging would be to wrap the top of the mouse in clingfilm and simply lay it on the jelly as it sets in the bowl(upside down from the way it appears in the pic, after its placed on the table)

quite easily if your a coward then add a dash of religion which makes it justifiable and you have the perfect recipe.

They still know words thru signing. My son is deaf he had menningitis at 2 months way before learning to talk. Thru the wonders of surgery and tech he is now 13 and can hear almost as well as a 'hearing' person.

Something I always wondered when I was working as a paramedic / EMT was why do people that have little or no medical training insist on telling you how to do your job when you turn up to treat their friend / relative / neighbour etc. Really used to boil my ****.

If the universe is expanding as they say, what is it expanding into??????

Finite but unbounded, when you blow up a balloon the surface expands but it doesn't expand INTO anything.

Yes it does, the whole balloon expands and takes the surface with it.
Spank86
25-07-12, 09:40 PM
The balloon expands yes but the surface gets bigger without expanding into anything (from a 2 dimensional perspective of course) the universe simply, does this in 3 dimensions.

Finite but unbounded, when you blow up a balloon the surface expands but it doesn't expand INTO anything.
And from a three-space perspective there are several possibilities:
1) The universe is expanding at the speed of light
2) Photons are dropping off the 'edge' of our three-space universe
3) Photons are being translated in some way which contains them within a bounded three-space universe
Choose one.
( Who said multiple choice questions have to be easy? )

That isn't an answer, to say something is finite!! A balloon expands into the space surrounding it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could answer a mathematically question to the highest possible number to finite +1 but it doesn't solve it. The question stands, what is outside the universe??? I

There isnt anything outside the universe, there is no outside, thats the point of the world universe.
If there was something outside it it would by default be part of the universe, because thats what the word means.
You're missing an important word (or two, unbounded is also important, but surface more so) the balloon itself expands into the space surrounding it but the surface of it does not, the surface of it simply expands in two dimensions but theres nothing else in those dimensions for it to expand into.

At the end of the day it's all theories. No one can actually know for sure. Hence the title of the post. So does it end? Is there an edge to the universe? Remember the world was flat years ago and everything revolved around our planet. Even now Einsteins theories are being questioned. I reckon all the lost mail is beyond the universe!!
Spank86
26-07-12, 06:18 PM
It's been a long while since anyone truly believed the world was flat.
Even during columbuses time they didn't really believe that.
And no, there's no edge according to theory.
Einsteins theories are being adapted, they'll never be thrown away same as newtons theories weren't Completely replaced by einsteins even though really they were.
