I really quite like this, don't think I could live with it because I'm wanting something more upright from them but this is badass:

Its the DDC project aparently, the HP4 will be a mental machine, if the HP2's are anyting to go by

not a lot impresses me when it comes to the latest sportsbikes, but this thing is from another world. So impressed with it.

only time you see these out on the streets is when they are ridden by people with more money that sense. or on the back of a pickup lorry coz they have been crashed. they are bonkers and the only time you will ever get to use its potential is on a track.

and I'm guessing at most UK tracks it would still be too much (thinking cadwell, croft, brands indy = all the small tracks). Would be amazing to ride though :smt073

Maybe it's pointless, maybe it's excessive, maybe it's a pose machine, maybe every single one of them will be bought by someone who can't ride it to its potential, it doesn't matter and I don't care, that is bloody fantastic.

they are only good if you can use them and most of the time its pose factor.Yeah, I'd feel terrible riding one of those - knowing that the bike is just sooo much better than me, and I couldn't possibly ride anything better than an old Superdream, (250 obviously), for exactly the same reason.

I often wonder about comments like this, someone went and spent their money as they wished to, how can this possibly elicit attitudes like these? I just don't get it.

I'm pleased for anyone who buys and enjoys one, it is a glorious expression of the state of art of modern motorcycles and if someone derives pleasure from riding one no matter how well - or badly - then good on them.

I agree, your money and do what you like with it.

Most bikes for sale these days are far more capable than I'll ever be, do I care? No, if i like it, I'll buy it regardless of whether it's too quick for me.

I've always admired these beemers and this one looks the nuts, if I had the money I'd buy one tomorrow :)

Ill informed opinions and stupid pre-conceived ideas. Very predictable.

The local dealers have a couple of S1000RR's in used stock. I've never ridden one but a member of sales is a mate and he owes me a favour. I'll blag one for a few hours and go scare myself fartless. If it does'nt conk out, of course. :Di dont think it will conk out on you,the problems with some pos all there inline fours is(including the 12&1300) mostly gearbox and clutch related, with more modifications to these parts then honda had in the 70's,with some people having the gearbox replace 2 or 3 times under warranty and out of warranty scare stories with bills around 4 grand to put right for another 5 to 10 k,so even if they have solved there problems would i really trust them (not that i can afford one)and buy one out of warranty just incase the gearbox problems come back at a later date
