Not allowed
This is now my garage. We wanted to sell the house and move to a location better suited for such, but unfortunately this isn't the time.....so best alternative was, to find a nice man with massive skill to build me a custom sized shed(that I have been after for years), rip out the kitchen worktops and install them too, so now we have a workshop :p
What's the silver machine with the flash indicators.
Nice place . Bigger than my house ;)

My neighbours dad builds towers of offices and flats, and his hobby is wood. He built this totally off his own plan. I just told him I wanted a 12x12ft shed, and it morphed into a 14x13. It wasn't going to cost any more to build bigger.
He has contacts in wood yards, so I got an absolute bargain including his wage.
I was looking at £950 quid on the net to build a 10x10 or thereabouts, made of what I can only call paper, which was just an off the shelf. Something of this size and almost similar thickness of boards, would be 2.5k on the net .....and thats before you find someone to build it.:smt019
He found it a pleasure to build, and is quite jealous, hes still trying to twist my neighbours arm to build him a big shed in the bottom of her garden to match mine, as at the moment, he has a smaller one, and his cellar that he works from. A very meticulous worker, who took great care as if it was his own he was building.

Well done! Lovely bike garage!
So jealous.
Alas my own bike languishes away inside a "crappy metal moisture trap of a so called shed".
I'm thinking of buying a hunchback costume for when I get the bike out.

It's something we've spoken about. We shall see what happens first, coz I've already started installing shelving etc.

See if you have anybody who works with insulation locally, it's not the cheapest thing to buy but if you can cut it out of their broken sheet/offcuts for nowt it's well worth the effort. The hardboard etc to stick over the top costs next to nowt.
Also what's on the roof so far? I had no end of trouble with the felt on my shed until I did a proper job, did the whole thing in old oil, then bitumen, then felt stuck down on that.
Crows seemed to like nicking the felt from where it was laid over the apex when they were nest building, gits!

Lucky I don't get crows in the back garden then ;) very few birds descend in our garden, the only one brave enough to risk being caught are dunnocks. All we get up there is lazy Mister Tibbs, with one eye open for his next kill, mind you, he hasn't been on a shed roof since we pulled the old one down. Think its too high to jump on this one.

Now that is a nice shed, what that places needs now though is to be used and loved. You can see the quality of the build in the photos. There is something very beautiful about wooden buildings and this is no exception.

Awesome shed! Think that'd take up most of my garden! :) I have a garage though which does the job nicely, but it currently filled with rubbish. Getting a shed soon to stick the lawnmowers, table and chairs and all that rubbish in. Then my garage will have the same splendour of your beautiful shed. :)

Very jealous of The Shed. Had the shiny SV for about a week before all the pollen fell off the trees and deposited itself on my screen and gave an orange tint to that lovely blue.

dizzyblonde
04-08-12, 08:04 PM
It cost me 1k including labour.
Find a shed of similar size and perhaps not the quality on the net, and you are looking at 2.5k ish without paying for someone to build it.
