Ok, now I know that this is probably one of the weirder threads that will pop up in here for a while but oh well!

My SV is an absolute pain in the ass. The latest in the long line of problems was my front CCT going, so I bought a new one to replace it, and after a few miles my bike started sounding a bit odd, and to me it sounded a bit like the rear CCT was on its way out. So I swapped the new front CCT with the rear one to see if it was the rear CCT breaking, as I thought that if that were the case then I would hear the noise shift to the front, which it seems to have done.

So, I'm pretty sure that I need to replace it, however being a student and absolutely broke I want to make sure that it is the problem before spending any more money.

Anyway, what I'm looking for is somebody in the Bristol area that rides a curvy SV who might be prepared to pop over to my place so I can steal the front CCT from your bike and try it in mine, just so I can make damn sure that I am chasing the right problem before spending any more money.

At most it would take an hour of your time, and I would be happy to cover the cost of petrol for you to get here, I'm only in Long Ashton so it's not far for anybody in Bristol. Squirrel and Stretchie on here can both testify that I'm not a complete psychopath!

So if there is anybody in the area that might be able to help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading this.

Good news is I'm in long Ashton.
Bad news is I ride a pointy, sorry.

I know of a lad in bedminster who has a curvy. He goes by the name of Steve S.
You'll find him on bristolbikers forum and also four counties bikers forum.

Might be worth a pm?
Sorry but it's all I can think of :)

Is it a yellow curvy by any chance?

Because if it is then I was seriously considering leaving a note on the bike pointing him to this thread!

Any chance you can link me to his profile on either of those forums?

And I obviously should have mentioned that if anybody has a spare CCT lying around and is local that would be perfect.

Just get somebody knowledgeable to listen to it.

They do have a normal rattle to them which is only not heard from the rear because it faces downhill and fills with oil.

Never met the guy in person but know he's local. His curvy is blue so not the custard one you saw before.
