View Full Version : The long awaited HD Drift POV Montage
So I've got a whole heap of vids sitting on my hard drive and no time to edit/upload. Here's a little raw Montage of a few vids in the collection, with a few Org appearances. Raw means raw so no music mullocks, just some engine noise and some wind noise.
Valleyboy, Squirrel Hunter, Biker Amy, DrewDrew and The Beast. I'll probably clean this up when I have some time but for now, Enjoy!
Removed! Please see the shortened, re-edited versions below. Still starring the above ... but just better! :D

I'm famous. Please no autographs.
Good film. Rear facing is a strange angle, its like traveling in reverse. But for the next one you need to sort some sound out. There has to be a better way of capturing the engine without the wind blast, if you discover it you'll make millions. Or make millions of bikers happy.

Good vid. Good to see a selection of angles and settings. :) Was the lady bird bit filmed at 60fps?

Yes, already used this location & there are vids awaiting editing with better sound. I agree, windnoise is bad but the mic popping out was more frustrating as one of the best vids I have has no sound.
But its all trial and error at this point. The Drift is great for reviewing video but you can't really do the same for sound on the go. Anyway, I could spend hours editing a million shots and slapping some music over the wind/soundless bits ... but I can't be arsed right now :smt015

Haha, I've no idea. I was dying to put that in somewhere. Think i'll submit this peice to Attenborough for the next 'Planet Earth'!
Very basic editing using Windows Live Movie Maker so just slowed it down to 1/4 speed. Longest task is converting the files (which failed numerous times with WLMM) so I'll be avoiding this next time.
Before summer ends I'm gonna make a 'proper' video using all the best settings and angles. Side fairing facing forward, helmet cam and front mudgaurd vids still to come. Haven't even started on the France footage yet :compcrash:

Fair play mate. I'm using CyberLink PowerDirector at the moment. Pretty good. It's one of those £50 range software editors, so not posh like Adobe whatever. I would recommend it, and it loads all the Drift footage in natively, so no arsing about.
That sounds ideal, except its not free - or, maybe it is (searching, searching ...)! I think a proper editor will make the job far easier. Keep posting your vids mate. Eventually we can have a "Vid Off" :D

I think with the popularity of bike cameras now, some sort of video board would be quite cool. Then the vids off could get the attention they deserve. ;) Got some good footage in Yorkshire a few weeks ago, as did Chris Robinson, but Paul the 6th said he'd edit it together and hasn't bothered yet. Instead he'd made lawn mowing tutorials and recorded himself singing. Lame!!!

You can still get hold of the older version of Windows Movie Maker 2.6. It's meant for Vista but runs fine on Windows 7. Has more options, features and flexibility than Live Movie Maker.
Just make sure you uninstall LMM before you install WMM 2.6.

Cheers, I'll look into that.
Not one, but two new(ish) Vids. I've improved the POV Montage and Bicycle POV vids. Enjoy:

Look out for Part 2 of the Montage vid, a short burst of action, coming very soon!
(*Yes I've noticed the misspelling in the Vids too - that's late night editing for you ;) - they'll be sorted as soon as)
And here is Part 2!
