Probably approx 8k-9k across 2 bikes, 1 dirtbike, 1 tourer, only pleasure miles, no commuting.

Just under 5k I reckon. No commuting for me, so all pleasure miles. It's picked up in the last 6 months since joining the forum and hooking up with the GM. Before that I only had 2 other riding buddies!

Had the clearances done in September, Crashed, repaired it, off the road December to March (few one off repairs) and I'm due the mid-way service soon.

- Commuting (Rally raid for the last year)
- Stuffed it on the Hartside
- Hartside Pass too many times
- Olivers Mount Twice
- Lakes several times
- AR11
- GMV
- Isle of Man (GMV and IoM= 920 miles in 8 days)
- North Wales
- Scotland a few times

ooops didn't read before doing the poll, erm about 10k and that includes not having a bike for 9 months, i have done 2500miles in 5 weeks
as of tomorrow 7088 but my bike was off the road from beginning November till mid March so you can say 8 months of riding only on sundays and have missed a good few this year. i would say i've averaged 300 miles each sunday.
Fallout was at the GM.. i must have been sleeping or drunk.. lol
Bib, GM=Guild Massive, not Gay Massive ;)
ahhh that explains it. you poofy southerners have a meeting the same letters as us hardy scots.

Yeah, sorry chap! Not that Scottish merging of great minds, but rather the Guildford Massive. A group of complete tools who ride pretty much every week. :)

About 7500 miles of pure pleasure.
wish i could get some of the ecosse possie to ride every sunday but they are a bunch of excuse making home staying weaklings. some of them wont even go out in the dark. but the best ones are 'i have no money' 'i'm watching the racing' 'my in-laws are coming over' lame lame lame. there are only 2 members that will come out on sundays rain or shine.

That sucks buddy! We have a good pool of people to get a ride together with. We can be a bit lame with the rain now and then, but us southerners get a decent dose of the sunshine, so normally it's dry weather riding for us. :)

lol that was actually me, as said i miss read, although I'm well on track for over 20k as I'm doing 2.3k a month
2k, including commuting.
8000 on the Versys this year so far, but for the first 3 months of the year I was using an FJR1300 that I managed to clock up another 8000 on over winter. Before October I was doing maybe 1000 a month commuting and pleasure miles on the Versys, plus however many on customers bikes test riding them.
My mileage has dropped the past month or so since I moved 40 miles closer to work. I've just bought a Honda crunchie 90 to use as a commuter because the Versys isn't anywhere near warmed up by the time I get to work.

About 300. Mostly all in the mud.
10,702 according to Fuelly.com. Although it was off the road one day in October last year and another time I caught the bus to work.

About 9k, including commuting (which has now been reduced) but also to and from Scotland twice and a long rideout while up there, a few joyrides and my bird ringing trips.
Have done 1500 since I got my Rsv .
Its a fun bike not a commuter .

You moved closer?

03-08-12, 06:56 PM
i put 15-20k
but realized i have two bikes and sometimes use a scooter so i guess that puts me in the 20k+
oh and my girl friends car always breaks/ get written off in accident/ requires me to fix something. so end up doing more miles as my personal taxi no longer works

You moved closer?
No... I actually moved further away from everything, but I retired last year, so I am not on the bike day in day out any more.

I was made aware of this thread, but rather than give you a mileage I'll give you last years fuel bill.......£6,800 (well just under actually), but close enough, the Pegaso has accumulated 5.5k in six weeks.
Cheers Mark.
Rictus, if you don't mind me asking. What is your job/occupation that entails you to drive so much all over the country?
rictus01
04-08-12, 06:01 PM
I guess I'm medically retired now so these days it's all for fun mate, back in the day I was a network consultant and spent most of the time shooting around the country on a bike with a laptop, I was averaging around 70k a year then.
Cheers Mark
Awesome! TBH i was expecting to hear the words tyre tester or something  You must do around 20-30k then?

42 last year if I remember right, I normally count up just after christmas, these days I have more time, but unfortunately my knee prevents me riding as much as I actually ride.

Have you bought a Yamaha in Newcastle in the past?
rictus01

no but I do visit a friend there a couple of times a year, last time I stayed in the premier inn in gateshead, but generally I pass by, why ?

I very rarely ride these days since having son no2.
I think I managed about 500 miles on the VRap between this MOT and the last one, the SV got considerably more than that as Peg used her for commuting for a short time.
These days I have other priorities that keep me out of the saddle which is understandable.
The miles I ride these days are quality, not quantity. I've been and done the commute in the snow and ice, I've got the tshirt for having a bike as the only form as transport, sure I miss the rideouts, but these days I pick and choose when I decide to take pleasure in a little 'me time' and in recent times its been certainly seen that being out of the saddle doesn't necessarily make you rusty ;)
about 15 k , mostly commuting / work related , have managed a couple of bike weekends and off to Scotland next week so another 1000 then
Cost of petrol stopping pleasure miles at the moment
Cheers Steveg

35,000 on the bike plus another 20,000 in the car - approx £800 - £1000 per month on fuel.....
Have you bought a Yamaha in Newcastle in the past?
I have. I flew from Stansted into Newcastle to buy my Yamaha Thunderace from a friend called Colin who lives in Washington, and rode it home stopping at Squires on the trip. That was 2003 if I recall correctly.
About 3500. Used to click up around 9-10k pa but not any more. My SV is a 2001 and has 75000 on it.

:smt082 wasn't me, but good lad, I have friends from Plymouth to Peterhead, when you're not confined by time and you have the promise of a decent home cooked meal and somewhere to crash for the night, it's a true pleasure riding the backroads all day getting there.
Cheers Mark.

Think I've done more miles on my pushbike this year, than on the SV, due to a number of reasons, plus the usual excuses as well. :(

Just checked my Garmin log for this year and 937 miles on my pushbike, but this'll be over 1k as I know I've ridden a few times without my Garmin

A Garmin on a pushbike?!? Surely you can't get far enough from home to get lost...?;)

20K commuting plus any other stuff. Not done any touring this year (due to a camper van habbit) or i'd be pushing 30k. Might try and do Scotland in a long weekend in September though. I'm itching to give my ZZR1100 a good run that doesn't involve ending up at work!

11,000 spread between 3 bikes, all for pleasure and all solo. Expensive hobby!

Done just over 15.5k in the last year,
Most of Germany,
Most of Holland,
Bits of Austria,
Small parts of Belgium,
Tiny bits of France,
The East of England and more latterly the South,
Just tipped 40,000 miles, think I need a new beastie, but don't tell her she'll get upset and put me in a bush again!;)
