so, sv650 life is over, time to move on, and bought this, bit older than the sv `97 plate, but wanted one for a while, and im very pleased with it.

for a paralell it rides and sounds like a v, bit more oomph than the sv, and bit more comfy too. rode 100 miles home and didnt really get uncomfy until nearly home.

That looks pretty, with a nice can they sound jolly nice too. A lad here had one for a while, I heard it start every morning and it was always so nice, until the old lady next door ran it over while parking her Micra. She gave up her license following that one.

That looks like a totally unmolested one!

Good find

Sweet. It's a bike I've always wanted, rare old beast these days, especially in that condition. Enjoy :)

Nice. I nearly bought one last year - it was considerably rougher than that one looks.

I'm sure you can do two's up on it ;)

according to the how many left website, there under 160 left on the road now!

both the standard cans must weigh a ton though, in time Id like some aftermarket jobbies , but its pretty much standard, something I dont want to ruin.

Could you see Jo sat on the back of that? I think that she would complain about the lack of padding :)

That's one problem with them, you can't just buy a slip on can, you need 2.....OUCH! Don't blame you leaving it standard. It is as cool as :cool::cool:

Fair point!
A piece of steel looks as comfortable

Nice :)
That pillion 'seat' just looks like a printed one, paper thin :(

It's not a seat. It's a mount for the tail pack :)

...for a paralell it rides and sounds like a v .....

I assume it's like a TDM motor with a 90deg crank, i.e. the pistons don't go up and down together (or at 180deg like some) but one is 90deg ahead of the other. The result is that the firing intervals are the same as a common crankpin 90deg V-twin like the SV and the feel is pretty much the same. They usually have at least one balance shaft to deal with the effects of the 90deg crank.

Nice bike, something different.

I remember them doing that when they first came out.
Its a cool idea compact engine but good power delivery in one box :)

Ah yes the TDM predecessor :) Brilliant bikes and this is a stunner as well!!

If you ever want to upgrade it the FI 900 from the TDM fits like a glove ;)

thats interesting to know :cool::cool::cool:

When you look at the r125 pillion seat you can see yamaha havent changed them much, lol

think its a 270 degree crank in this, so not quite the same as early tdm, but 900 tdm does use the 270. I think ;)

My brother has one of these out in Oz - he really likes it.

Thats a pretty thing, I pass one regularly, parked up on the road, when out on my travels.
Same colour, just a lot more battered!
