Hi tv is bust - need a new one - about 40", only got about 400 to spend - tempted to take it to bits but she says we've got to get a new one. I never get to watch it anyway. What does anyone recommend?

I picked up an LG 42LV355U which is a 42in LED tv with built in freeview. Nice little set, has plenty of HDMI ports, optical out for connecting to a surround sound system. Got it from Amazon at Christmas time last year. Think is was around £430 as it was the best price I could find.

TV's have reached a point where they are all pretty good now.
I've got a couple of 42 LG's that were sub £400 in Currys, do everything I want including USB playback. Dunno if HD freeview is built in now, that would be nice.

Here's 42in LG for £299, add £45 for warranty, looks like it has USB playback too

Being sold by Ebuyer, so pretty reliable to deal with in my experience

Richer sounds often have good deals, we have two LGs a 42 and a 60" and have served us well for three years, was hesitant cos I hadnt heard of the make but they're fab.
