So the Drz is gone now, well the yellow one is. The other one is still in bits waiting until we've settled after we move house in 2 weeks.
But for now anyway the yellow Drz has been sold and since collected so was able to bring home my new toy. I did plan on doing a "can you tell what it is yet" type thread but this purchase has rapidly become the worst kept secret of the org so here it is,

My new GSR750:

Oh and couldn't resist a picture of this... Zero miles, doesn't happen often:

That's a beaut mate! Does that mean if my neck is ever in your woods, you'll be able to come riding now?

Damn straight it does!
I'll need plenty of advanced warning mind you though as my weekends get booked up pretty rapid.

Nope, stayed dry on the ride in this morning.
I must be a proper tart though, bought some cleaning cloths the other day...
I mean cloths, purely intended for cleaning... wtf?

Are those clothes that you wear whilst using cleaning cloths? ;)

yes phil he did mate, now that it's home he can turn the 'mileage lock' off so the miles will start counting..

Eh?
Is that like the old fashion method of disconnecting the speedo?

I think Paul is mugging you off mate, yeah I rode it home from the dealer that pic of the speedo is taken outside the dealer just before getting my gear on to ride home, patio pics are taken at home. They're effectively posted in reverse chronological order, sorry I see how it could be confusing.

More pics to come of the stuff I've added to it already, also paid for the street pack (Belly Pan, Pillion Seat Cowle, Fly Screen, Tank Pad and Decals) that's not fitted yet but goes on during the 600miles service. I'd hoped that I'd get to go play on it this weekend but I had zero free time.
Move house next Friday so not a prayer I'm going to get to play on it other than on the commute :( for some weeks now.

yeah all new bikes have it mate did triumph not tell you about it on yours? it's a bit like in the olden days where you could select the region on your DVD drive a maximum of 5 times and then it would lock to whatever region you'd selected on the 5th time. Same technology as that but you only get one opportunity to use it.

The engine running in thread makes more sense now. I hope you will be adopting the trash the tits off it technique. :)

Bit of both,
Its how the dealer (Padgetts) recommended to do it.

<500miles keep it under 6000rpm but constantly take it up and down the box and rev range, never let it lugg and try not to hold a steady throttle.

> 500 < 1000miles keep it under 8000rpm but constantly take it up and down the box and rev range, every now and then blip it to the top.

> 1000 thrash away my child.

Best get them miles in then! You can make a good dent in the mileage by turning up on that Parkinson's ride over in PM section ;)

Great bike, a bloke I met is a stunt rider and uses one of these. He rated it as the most agile, best handling IL4 out there. Nice one!

Na, sold many bits off and with the house move that's free'd up some other cash, rest of the bike is on finance.

and erm no! Its getting over 1000miles under my backside before I even consider letting anyone do anything other than make vroom vroom noises on it.

Wow, thats quite a statement!
Pretty sure I wont be using it to that potential but I'll give it a go
