View Full Version : SV650 K&N Oil Filter
FOR SALE!
K& N OIL FILTER.
Part Number: KN - 138
It fits all Suzuki SV 650 & S Models 1999 - 2007.
But on the silly K&N site, it said 2009 as well . But it didn't fit!:smt067
I have a K9 pointy and it doesn't fit. I only took the seal off, applied some oil, tried to put it on but it wouldn't go on. Its still new and unused.
If anyone would like to have it, please reply here or PM me, just £5 + p&P (<£1.5) from the PO. Payment by BACS.

Where is this information from? Is there a source you have?
I would think the same thing. The website said upto 2007, and I thought that it would fit 2009 as well, so I bought it. BUT, it DIDN'T fit. And so I bought an original Suzuki part and that fit just fine.
So I'm a bit confused! Clear the air a little bit please? :cyclopsani:

the info will be on the k+n site as well
all the filters are the same
Does seem that the KN-138 is universal through the curvy to pointy models as it's that model number through out. Just checked via this link: http://www.knfilters.com/search/appsearch.aspx#&&/wEXBgUIQVBQX1RZUEUFAnBzBQ5SRUZFUkVOQ0VfTkFNRQUKQVB QX1NFQVJDSAUJQVBQX01PREVMBQZTVjY1MFMFCEFQUF9NQUtFB QZTVVpVS0kFCkFQUF9FTkdJTkUFAzY1MAUIQVBQX1lFQVIFBDI wMDA000gyj7KqCGwY3r60Axa0UleN/cZs1xv52k6jefscUQ==
I'll have this, I got your PM but will need your details to pay you. Prefer paypal (will send as a gift) but will BACS if need be.
Let me know :)
I think that PayPal charges you if you send it as a gift!

So did I so I was shocked when it didnt fit. I then went and about this:
Ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380411622560?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_2400wt_1140)
And it fit perfectly!:smt041
So I'm a bit confused about the whole thing.
ok here is your proof
old/still current filter part number for all SV650 16510-03G00-X07 (check your box and i bet thats the part number if not see below)
soon to be superseded with 16510-07J00
almost every single suzuki MC built after 2003 use the same oil filter.

And the K&N Box just says KN-138. No parts number or anything else
Its the inside of the filter that made the difference really. The K&N has the metal bit inside too high to fit onto my SV. Then again, my SV could have been modified, the prev owner only told me of two modifications. I ordered for a fender extender that doesn't fit. And the brake lines are a shiny blue. I don't know if all that is standard.

Is what the inside looks like and this metal bit came in contact with my metal bit on the bike and refused to let the filter go in any further.
The Suzuki filter was more deeper and it went it all the way.:smt041
This is what my front fender looks like & I'm guessing it has been changed to fit the USD forks. Can anyone verify this please? And identify what the fenda on my bike really is so that I can buy the correct fenda extenda?
Also, I now have a useless fenda extender that I have to sell! AARRGHHH!

may i suggest that you do your homework. i'll give you a little clue, your front end is off a GSXR k6> but i won't tell you which one as that spoils the fun of finding out. google images is a good place to start.
have you told your insurance company that you have a GSXR front end?
Looks like a very nice bike! I'm dead sorry about this but I'm gonna have to pull out on buying the filter, my housemate just text me saying I owe them for bills before I moved out...so down to the bare bones now for this month, dead sorry!
OK, please keep this thread to a For Sale of an Oil Filter.
Or I'll move or delete
