Hiya after some numpty decided to remove his auction from ebay I am no longer any closer to a naked to yoke.
Can just drill my top yoke if I strengthen the back?
want to add some bars instead of clip ons as I prefer the look and ride
plus I have girly weak wrists lol
A lot of people have just drilled the yoke. By adding a plate to the underside you'd have to drill the yoke more to fit it so it might not be of any benefit.
It's all a calculated risk and only you can make that call.
I'm sure more cleverererer people will be along shortly to help you.
I might be able to help here. When I find some time to sort it all out I'm going to be selling my SV and spares which includes a naked curvy conversion (Yoke, Clocks, Headlight, headlight brackets).

Negatory.
You'll need same size hole plate or not.
Biggest tihng is do you need to add clocks? I am convinced it is strong enough with a well done spreader plate underneath.
However it is pain to mount clocks.
If you have a look at this thread you'll see my drilled GSXR yoke with the spreading support underneath. Seems to be working well so far!

Ah had a nosy and seems simple enough what size thread did you go for on the renthals?
I've got absolutely no idea why I wrote "you'd have to drill the yoke more". I was thinking along the lines of "I'd be happier doing it with more than two fixing points (ala Speed/Street Trile risers) to hold the yoke and strengthening material together".
I recently bought a Fireblade naked yoke conversion and it is almost as thick as a Soreen fruity malt loaf!

It doesn't need to be if you look at many naked bike yokes.
I tihnk a lot of custom yokes are like that because it means less machine time. Makes no difference to material cost as you have to buy the same billet to start anyway.

Fair comment Chris. Might have to look into some renthal bars and risers then any ideas how much give is in the cabling once re routed?
