19 lol . Be 20 on january 12th the day my insurance runs owt . Had a quote on sv1000 for £605 TPFT and fazer £500 TPfT . So thinking sv1000£605 is cheap for insurance to me. Cause cars ar like 4k insurance

And do sv1000 turn corners?the fazzer 6 and sv1000 are both good bikes,(although the sv has been known to suffer from clutch rattle due to wore shock absorber springs, meaning new clutch drum) and of course the sv has about 30 more hp,and being biassed as i have one, dont forget the honda v4s,forget the vtec have a look at the 800 pre vtec if you can find a lowish milage and good condition one, although milage aint that important if its looked after as the engine is good for 250k,and is only slightly slower then the sv1000,also abit more sportier and not for every one, theres the honda fireblades, there all good apart from the 954 which suffers from cracked engine blocks, and if not abused and with the now famous honda build quality you can pick a good blade up to match most pockets, although the very early ones are going up in value and are becoming sought after in stock condition

Blade might be high insurance though.
Insurance quote before ridding one.
Makes a big different once you have one years NC.

You dont need a bigger bike then a 600, i just gone from a sv650s curvy to a R6 and its so planted and has so much power you will never use it all.

Plus a 600 is also cheaper to insure, tax, easier on tyres, chains etc.

My opinion

P.S it will also smoke a lambo ;-)

Well, possible but i highly doubt it on the road at least, gun it in 2nd, and by by license in a few seconds lol but its nice to have the extra umphhh over the SV... I do miss that thing.

After owning this bike i have come to realize how pointless a 1000cc super sports bike is on the road.

Ummm yes of course i do but never going round a bend at 12k where the power really starts, plus it scares the **** out of me on the road as when its bumpy it just moves all over the place.
And on the straights me and my 'Friend' Chloe(09 R6) really give it some power hehe

Going to do a track day really soon to get the anger in the bends out of me in a controlled state lol

I looked at this a long time ago. SS600 was cheaper for me to insure than an SV1000, but there wasnt a lot in it.

Ended up with a GSXR-750 but thats a whole different story.

Joe - are you restricted still or will you be when you get a new bike, if so I'm not sure how a SS600 would feel restricted to ride, you might be better off on the SV1000 from that point of view.

Its group 14 buddy, after 1 year on the SV, and a 1 year NCD it cost the same to insure the R6 as the SV for the first year, but i am 24.

I got an R6 and an SV1000S, they are very different bikes

Depends what you want from the bike really

I've got an FZ6 S2 (which I'm selling) and an SV650, so while I can't compare to the SV1000, I can tell you my experience. It really depends on what you want for a bike, and which one fits you best.

I'll start by saying that the FZ6 is one of the best, and easiest to throw around, bikes that I've ridden. I got mine from the shop brand new, and after ****ing off the stock tyres (which actually lasted 13000km) got a set of Conti SportAttack2's for it.

Once I chucked on the drag bars as well, it was a completely different bike.

IMO, the FZ6 is a sturdier, more reliable bike. There are a lot of options out there to easily go half faired or naked (with lower fairings available for fully faired). I never had it lack in power below about 200kmph - I've only been above 200 once on it, but it got there quickly. With a huge steering range, I could do a U-ey inside the circle scribed out by my mate on his GSX-R.

Only PITA for a short rider is that the FZ6 is a little tall. I've seen guys 6'6" riding it - but when you've got a guy under about 6'8", you struggle to roll it around in a car park on your toes. options exist for lowering it.

SV650 has a smoother throttle, and for me, a more comfortable position. If the SV650 didn't just fit (and have the screen and fairing over my FZ6) I wouldn't have had any desire to switch. It's also that I personally prefer the character of a twin compared to the outright power in an I4.

Different strokes I guess
