Ok then;
Daddyjob has volunteered to lead this outing,
no doubt it will involve somewhere on the coast for brunch,
possibly a stop for a cuppa later on and fuel stops when necessary.
If needs be will add a stop to pick up others, possibly Alton Cafe or Loomies.
If you want to start somewhere else TOUGH!
If you don't want to go to the coast TOUGH!
Please don't derail this thread with nonsense!
Just want to know who's in?
If you're not gonna come there is no need to post to say so!
Apologies for the aggressive tone but sometimes there is more chat than details, lets try to keep the bulls**t to a minimum!
One nice clear list of names please!;)

Come on a little drizzle never hurt anybody!;)
I'm 50/50 for this atm. Suspension woes! New shock is fine as is moving/cutting a few bits to get it in. Upon removing the joint that attaches to the frame/shock and dog legs i discovered why the back felt unstable-the bearings in the frame mounting side had collapsed and seized. So i've ordered a kit to replace all the bearings in that section. Hoping to be OTR by the end of the week and up for Sunday. Will keep you updated!

It's more 70/30 now. Awaiting the arrival of bearings tomorrow, which should mean i'll have it in one piece by the end of tomorrow night.
Need to get out on it prior to the weekend to check the suspension is working right.

Mate I set mine to track settings on Sunday, now its so solid it's dangerous on imperfect tarmac, got some tweeking to do tomo'!
yeah sounds like it! I'm hoping the new rear shock will transform the handling now the whole unit is new, refitted and much more adjustable. I'll be tweaking it on the next few rides to fine tune it
When thunderace means 'track settings' he means the back is stiffer than a peado in a playground....
I'm so nervous about this rideout, not gona lie lol
No need to be nervous mate, Thunderace will dissappear and meet us at the junction ahead, Spank will follow him, Fallout may follow them if his bike is alive, i'll bimble along as usual
What is actually wrong with fallout's bike..
a better question is 'what's right with fallouts bike' ;)

Jammy, I have a load of issues, but the show stopper is the front brakes. My wheel and/or discs are warped, so last ride out they were .... interesting. Had it all apart at the weekend and am now borrowing a wheel from The Idle Biker to finish my diagnosis! If he lets me, I'll keep hold of that wheel for the weekend (assuming it fixes the problems) and come out on that before I return it and buy what I need to get the bike sorted.
Apart from that, I have a leaking alternator gasket and wiggling clutch lever. Have the spare parts now. Will change the gasket on the next oil change and will change the clutch lever when I can be arsed.
Hopefully I will be out to face death again this weekend.
did you know this when you bought it...or have the problems developed with your interesting riding style
Fallout
15-08-12, 10:38 AM
Spotted quite a few problems when I bought it, like minor fairing issues, old fork seals, chain+sprockets on their way out, but somehow completely missed the fact it has been low sided at some point. Big old scrape on the alternator cover. I was there with Laurie and we both spotted different issues but both missed that.
Would've walked away had I seen it. I think what's happened is it's changed hands a few times recently, and each owner has fixed a few bits, then got fed up and sold it on. Hopefully I'll be the last owner to do that. Once the front wheel issue is sorted, the rest should be standard maintenance work, fingers crossed.
The joys of buying privately... My Sv650 had been lowsided, dead moths everywhere, spiderwebs and a completely fused sumpplug that i'm going to have to drill out. nothing as life-threatening as warped brakes though..

I know Winder has apparently met him, but how many times has anyone ever seen Winder? We saw him once ... or did we? So long ago now, he might not be real either.
I don't even know if I'm real any more.
