Having trouble replacing brake pads.

Tried to replace my front brake pads earlier but couldn't get the pistons to go back in. The pistons and calipers in general look pretty clean so i'm hoping they're not seized.

Did exactly what the Haynes Manual said which is to take the cap off the reservoir and open the bleed nipple on the caliper your working on then push the pistons in. Yet nothing happens, they seem to push in by about a mm but then just push back out.

Don't really want to have to strip both calipers again as they were done not even a month ago.

Get 2 G-clamps, take the res cap off (makes the job easier IMO) and push them back.
Works for me.

Get a rag and earbuds have a quick rub round at the same time you in there

I have always had to use G clamps to get the pistons back in. They still work fine.

changed mine on Friday and all worked as they should . Have to admit got no feeling on the rears now I've changed those. Think they need to be worked in a bit.

If you need the job done and don't have a spare g-clamp to hand you may be able to slide a piece of wood or somesuch into the gap that will give a bit of even leverage to push them in. You may get away without opening the bleed nipple too.

Have you got a standard Suzuki brake lever?

I believe I do have the standard brake lever.
