So I'm getting a stock can to my curvy using the re-connection sleeve, all done and looks good but it is blowing around with ends of the sleeve.
What is the best way to seal it as I have MOT know Saturday and that'll fail. I was thinking exhaust past round either end?
Cheers.

hi i would take it off again , and clean all parts that are going to join with wire wool , then use a good exhaust paste on both bits , ie outside main exhaust going to engine , then inside the new can then put them together , and tighten it all up , then stat bike , dont rev it , and leave it to heat up , then switch bike off and leave to cool down , should then be sorted , you can wipe off any access paste with a cloth befor you start bike up , and if there is any when its hard wire wool will clean it up
hope that helps

So basically paste all parts, tighten up, start, heat up, cool down, wipe off excess?

You can also use silicon sealant in this join as it doesn't get hot enough.

You sure? The silencer was quite hot when I got to work this morning, to hot to keep your hand on. I imagine the joint was much hotter.

Pretty much what I did with my aftermarket exhaust, worked fine for me!

Yes, but if you're not sure there is high temp silicon sealant. You'll get a cleaner finish with silicon sealant, the paste is messy to work with, I've used it before.

Just use cheap as chips clear silicone sealant - I have used that on my SV650 (twin renegade carbon high level cans), SV1000 (remus revolution cans) and my Sprint ST1050 (3 carbon Trident cans with polished slash cut ends).
I have never used high temp stuff ,and have not had any problems with the cheapest monkey spunk I can find.

Used the Gun Gum exhaust putty very thick and goes off really quick, was also cheaper than silicone.
Has made an excellent seal.

Scorpion exhausts used to recomended RTV high temp silicone sealant
