If anyone has any use for my old K3 engine and you can pick it up, it's yours. I was going to strip it and sell the heads but I'm too lazy and we are moving house soon so wont have a garage any more.
The crankshaft snapped last year. I'm pretty sure the valves are ok but obviously no guarantees until it's stripped. I did take the covers off though and all of the caps move up and down as the engine is turned by hand.

I have removed the two side cases and front cylinder head cover to use on the new engine. So not a lot of useful bits. But if it's any use to you then let me know :)

Yeah sure can do. I build hovercraft anyway for a living. I work for a company called Flying Fish Hovercraft we use 35hp 1000cc Briggs and Stratton engines in them as standard. However I recently developed one to produce 55hp @ 4000 rpm with 60 ftlb of torque and it has been very successful. Torque really helps in a hovercraft so next project is a sv engine in a racer with some light mods to aid a bit more horsepower and torque. Hopefully it will work really well :)

Hopper your pm's are full...


K3 engine. Both side cases removed and replaced with damaged ones. Front cylinder head cover replaced with damaged one. Crankshaft snapped at alternator. Alternator rotor was binned where it snapped off crankshaft.

Mate he just turned up to pick up the engine....

He said the pallet is too small for his lifter to fit under, so he is going to bring a pallet tomorrow and pick it up after 3pm.
