It may happen but there's no way you'll get dan there unless you're going to drag his bed behind your bike.

Jammy
21-08-12, 07:51 PM
:laughat: ive kinda ruled him out with that meet time havent i

I work Saturdays sorry bud.

Fallout
21-08-12, 09:26 PM
Possibly. Slowly changing chain. Angle grinded the old one off yesterday. Fannied about getting the clutch/sprocket cover off today. Now realising it's nigh on impossible to get the front sprocket off when you've removed the chain already. Will be figuring out a way to botch that tomorrow. May have a bike by saturday if I pull my finger out.

Jammy
22-08-12, 08:01 PM
OH c0ck. Paintshop got back to me today and said its going to be atleast saturday or some ******** till its ready (2 weeks overdue). I could ride with no mirrors and front indicators and just use arm signals lol...would need to tape the top headlight down too but it could be done hahaha

Fallout
22-08-12, 08:14 PM
How about you reschedule for sunday to at least give you a chance of having a bike and so Tom can go?

Jammy
22-08-12, 08:20 PM
Sunday im working at the paraolympics mate

Jammy
22-08-12, 08:21 PM
it is technically possible to change my shift but we'll see about it tommorow.

Fallout
22-08-12, 08:26 PM
Ahh, didn't realise you were off the next day. Probably best not to ride without mirrors or indicators, otherwise you'll probably be competing and not working on Sunday.

Spank86
22-08-12, 08:35 PM
You worried about competition fallout?

Get your fancy orange wheel over to Reading and get it fixed for tenner. The amount of time you've spent discussing it you could have been there and back and had it all sorted by now.

Less pontification, more action young man!

There now!

Scabbiest hut but always a queue of decent bikes outside. And if you do a ride-in job just watch how easy he makes paddock stands look.

Fallout
25-08-12, 11:50 AM
Yep, seemed to be fairly busy. Two other customers while he was waiting for my tyre to cure. All done for a tenner, which is only a bit more than a can of bodge weld. Good recommendation Mark. I'll be going there again.

Fallout
25-08-12, 12:23 PM
If I attend this I won't be able to be out long. Pup will be at home all day by himself. Any plans on route?

Does good price on tyres too. Got my PR3's for less than most dealers were fitting PR2's.

Not for me, not aloud out to play as Bodmin is next week!:(

Jammy

Uh ...so is it just you and me fallout ... Maybe Tomor?

I have no idea about routes really, Suggestions?

I'll come down for a short ride then.

Drag my **** out of bed early.

Jammy
25-08-12, 06:45 PM
Is that your best Bordtea impression Spank

Spank86
25-08-12, 06:46 PM
Ha, he'd never get up early,

Certainly not 8oclock early.

Jammy
25-08-12, 06:47 PM
I could change the meet time to 10/11? i'm really not fussed. I just thought early starts were the done thing, but seeing as no-one wants a long ride why not get a lie in :D

Spank86
25-08-12, 06:50 PM
They are normally. If we're going on a long breakfast jaunt on a sunny day they give us a few hours of open road.

I don't care really, 9 is fine for me.

Thunderace
25-08-12, 07:04 PM
Ok will be at Loomies 0900 for a brew but coming straight home before the wife cuts my nadgers off!;)

Spank86

Good man.

Can always rely on an old squaddie to turn up for a cuppa. :D

Jammy
25-08-12, 07:10 PM
You can all laugh at the fact my bikes been in and out of the same paintshop for 2 weeks, been sprayed twice cause of botched colours...and the colours still dont match (waste of money) should of listened to all of you as usual. I'm going to take the policy of never cleaning it now :D

Excellent choice its only the layers of grime that hold mine and Spanks bikes together, that and the fact that both of our bikes have a lower half caked in oil!;)

Not really, we're mainly going to check if jammy is real.

Tomor
25-08-12, 07:50 PM
I won't be there i am afraid, replacing my undertray and fitting new tail tidy took longer than expected so bike still as no back end or indicators. Apologies all. I still expect a report back on whether Jammy is real or not. (even though i may have seen him out in passing but no confirmed sighting of a face)

Fallout

Remember Total Recall gents. Tomorrow night, even if you think you saw Jammy, can you really be sure? Perhaps it was implanted memories. Keep hold of your receipts!

My bike is now officially road worthy, or at least, put back together. I've not ridden yet since a week of fannying about. The rear wheel turns when I give it beans on the paddock stand though, so that's enough for me! :) 9:00 tomorrow it is!

If you lot are reading this at Loomies, please check that weld and hole in Fallout's frame. Clearly it's a dodgy cut-and-shut frame but I'm sure I heard it crack as he accelerated out of South Harting.

Not wishing to plant any seeds of doubt or anything but that frame definitely looks dodgy. If you get a clonking when the clutch is released or it's unexpectedly hard to move the clutch that is a clear sign the frame is about to let go. They usually let go when acceleraring onto a major A-road after a curved junction, say for example the A3 so make sure you don't do any of that.

Apart from the impending doom likely to befall Fallout's bike I had a good time and met even more new people so thanks again chaps. Did Jammy get let back into the cafe again after his "incident" with that blokes sausage?

Spank86
26-08-12, 01:00 PM
He was too scared to go in and find out, think he's got himself a reputation.

I stopped and moved those branches btw, seemed I had a lot of time to kill waiting for thunderace and fallout so it was only polite.

Jammy
26-08-12, 01:38 PM
Cheers for today guys, cool meeting all of you! Who was the bloke on the daytona? Never caught his name.

"incident" with that blokes sausage? ... now that's just dirty.

And no i stayed outside hahaha.

Edit: Cheers to Mark for the mini-lesson [-X :p and Nathan for making me drop my keys :smt018 :pale:

You could hide your frame issues and please whoever 1. aint a biker and 2. still alive in this new government

Fallout
26-08-12, 04:28 PM
Think my frame issues are beyond repair. As daddy Mark has stated, it's such a shoddy cut and shut job that it wouldn't even be suitable for a GSXR smart car mod. Mind you, at least my swing arm isn't made of mini baby bel cheese, unlike Mark's which can be sliced clean in two by something as inert as a brake cable!

-1 credit to daddyjob for encouraging Fallout to continue riding such a shonky bit of kit. Had you turned up today you'd hav seen that his bike is riddled with it. Main problem is we don't yet even know what "it" is!

DJ123
26-08-12, 06:57 PM
exactly, hence why it should be inspected to find out what 'it' is. Best to get a qualified engineer to inspect it, rather than guessing.

It's only the chain holding the back-end to the front-end.

+1 credit for Thunderace for good job on the chain deferring the inevitable unicycling demo.

Thanks for reminding me....Yes +1 for Spank...However you were all completely unaware of the log across the road when I issued the warning at the turn-around so -1 for all apart from Spank who is back at zero

Mark_h

More Sunday ride-out credit adjustments.

+1 for all on ride apart from Jammy and I.

Some of you sniggered as I took young Jamster off for a chat and started with "look, don't worry about speed, speed will come once you start to get smooth etc"

You then all carried out a 17 point turn round a blind bend in between all the traffic previously monstered by you lot.

You then parked on the side of the road just past the blind bend opposite the queue of traffic. so far so poor but then....

I think it was Spank who red-lined his luke-warm bike off down the road closely followed by everyone else. The sound was damn impressive (apart from that strange creak from Fallout's frame) and got quiet pretty quickly so I can only assume you all backed off just round the corner explaining the reduced volume rather than keeping it pinned until out of ear-shot which would have taken about 3 seconds! Did some-what undermine the advice but sounded brilliant. + 1 for all and for now we'll over-look the negatives for mechanical appreciation for red-lining bikes that had been parked up for a good 30 mins!

I actually considered that my engine wasn't at optimum operating temperature, so I made sure I only use 95% throttle. Got to baby this thing in it's twilight years.

There was a number on the temp gauge.

If it doesn't say low it's getting thrashed.
