Ok you might not want 830mm (the R6 is 830mm and many sports bikes are 810-820) but I wanted taller and not lower scrapy pegs. So I set about making this:http://i1215.photobucket.com/albums/cc504/Radyr/DSCN27282.jpg
Not perfect but looks pretty good and wow what a difference to my ride!
Here's what I used:

Stretchy black fabric from Hobbycraft (1/2 metre, less than £10)
Stiff foam (out of TV packing or similar)
Staple gun
Scissors

METHOD
1. Cut foam to shape of top of seat icluding angled sides (I used 2 thicknesses - about 30mm in all) and bevel edges with scissors.
2.Remove seat, place foam on top and turn upside down on to fabric.
3. Pull tight lengthways and staple at both ends over original cover and staple.
4. Bit by bit pull tight all round and staple new cover to sides (old cover stays intact)
5. Trim excess fabric with scissors.
6. Refit seat.

If you want a higher seat - worth a try. Can be removed and no traces of mod when staples are out. Not up to professional seat quality but pretty good and cheap. Helps me ride without the cramps. Everyone's experience is different but for me this seat mod makes the bike a lot better.
Cheers.

Oh yes and if you need a staple gun - Blackspur make one for £3.99 and it works fine!

Looks like you need some Vehicle Shampoo and a sponge! :smt040

Good idea though. Someones used the same idea with my seat except they just didn't make it any higher. Just a recover.

Close up photos always look a bit dirty! ;) Nice thing about this mod is you can do what you want - a bit higher, a lot higher or just a recover ( not lower though!)

Has anyone else fitted a higher seat - how do you find it? Just got back from a long ride - I found the bike really great, bum up in the air head down, arms bent - quite relaxing; falls into corners better than before - can't be bad!
