I think the title says it all, slaps all round for no shows!
As the Transport Minister it falls to me to dictate where and when any form of transport can or should be allowed to move!
So all Cabinet Members to attend, apart from non GM Cabinet members unless they feel the urge!

Spank86

I think jam was already on drugs when he first got to loomies, it's the only explanation for eating everyone else's food.

Hmmmmm, perhaps you guys aren't allowed out late on a school night or something ? Sammy was there at eight and me just after, stayed until about half nine, then a brisk ride back to guilford, fish & chips, sat and chatted, just home now, check my sat nav, average speed on the run home 64.7mph not bad considering I wan't on the A3....;)

Good night ride that.

Cheers Mark.

No worries, I had Sammy for company, and a blinding midnight ride home, so all well.

I would suspect, being the avid rider you are, you actually having working headlights that can see further than a candle. We were all heading down back roads with main beam on and about 10 metres visibility.

rictus01
06-09-12, 07:21 AM
I do indeed, but then a habit of going out in the depths of night for some fun require at least that, why are your headlights so bad then ?

Fallout
06-09-12, 07:23 AM
Every bike I've had has had pathetic headlights. I had a Yamaha DTR to start. Rubbish. The SV next. Atrocious. Now have the gixer ... better, but still quite lame. I can see, but with the main beam on I'd like to be able to get almost car-style lighting so I can see the back roads. I thought it was standard fair to have very inadequate lights on Jap bikes until you upgraded them?

rictus01
06-09-12, 07:30 AM
well one of you has a speed 4 don't they, and they are great lights (I've got one myself and had 7 speed triples which have the same), and what's your GSXR a K1, they aren't bad at all, still cheap and easy to upgrade the bulbs or better still a HID conversion ?

Cheers Mark.

Fallout
06-09-12, 07:33 AM
Yep, well Y/K1. You're right. I think a bulb upgrade would be an easy fix. But I don't do a lot of night riding, so never seem to get round to it. Also, always paranoid about wattages and what the loom can actually take.

I did actually think of Ad's big old s4 headlights when I was straining to see into the darkness and thought he be should leading, but I got lost in the moment and kept going. :)

rictus01
06-09-12, 07:37 AM
well unless the loom has been messed with it'll carry high wattage bulbs without issue and a HID actually uses less but will obviously cost a bit more to start with.

Cheers Mark.

My electrics are a bit of a joke. Random junction boxes and spliced wires all over the shop courtesy of previous owner(s). The front may be ok though. I'll probably give it a go and hope for the best!

That would be me but I rarely look where I'm going anyway.

They are reasonable, pretty good for a bike but I can't say as I wouldnt get a HiD conversion if I was throwing money round.

Washed the bike the other day. As I watched water trick down the tank under the fairing I was thinking "I had that off earlier and there were a fair few wires with shoddy insulation". Needless to say, I left it standing for a few days before it got ridden. It's stored in the garage though, and as it's a weekend hack, it generally only sees dry weather, but now you mention it, I may be in for some excitement the first downpour I'm caught in.

Edit: Having said that, I'm sure we got rained on once on a ride out and it lived to tell the tale.

Mark_h
06-09-12, 08:39 AM
My bigger concern would be what the rain does to the Sellotape holding the frame together. Should at least upgrade that to Duct tape before the real wet weather kicks in.

I however have addressed the cause of my "streamlined and polished section of swingarm" and am satisfied that the remaining material is substantial enough for my needs. You on the other-hand have a frame of unknown composition, sourced from many bikes and the contents of a stationery cupboard by the looks of it.

Ah well that's where it all falls down of course, only been back in the UK for 6 months and never lived round here before, and I'm only 5 miles away so would have to go in the wrong direction to get there!
