I have the chance to buy a pair for £130, as both my tyres were advised on my MOT last week I can't not be tempted.
Anyone had experience with these tyres, good, bad or ugly.
Cheers
I wasn't overly impressed with mine. Went back to roadsmarts this time.
I don't ride hard enough in the dry to comment on the top end performance but in wet, wintry conditions they're pretty good...
I'm gonna need a new rear in about 500mi, if you don't want 'em I'll happily take them off your hands!
These have now been replaced by newer tyres I believe, but I had a set or two and quite liked them. Sticky enough for peg-down at Lydden hill circuit on the ZX6R, and lasted about 10,000 miles or so. But then, I don't seem all that fussy about tyres.
The tyre section (http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=138) will have multiple threads on Metzler Z6 and Pirelli Diablo Strada which were allegedly the same tyre with a different pattern.

@NTECUK - That was a good read thanks.
I know they are old tyres but I'm not a speed demon nor do I want to get my knee down. Bike is used all year round in all weather and I need new tyres, these are well within my budget.
Thanks for all your input.

I'm sure thats what I've currently got on!
Mine have been fine good grip to the edge and okay in the wet. I think I'll be on for about 10k with them. I done 900 miles on them in 9 days (a bit of Motorway and main A road), commute on them daily and they have only started to go square. Guestimate I've put 6k through them

Cool its a toss up between those and Michelin Pilot Roads. R these any good as they're slightly cheaper.

I like them.Great for long life and keeping good shape.Grip is good if you are a all year round road rider.Riding gods may require something better

I have the Pilot Roads on mine and I've no complaints about them other than the fact that I've gone through the rear in about 5000 miles. Aside from that, good grip wet or dry, suit the curvy SV very well indeed.

Think I will go for the Strada's, people seem to get more miles from the rears of these ones.
I have Diablo Stradas on my pointy and they have never given me any worries even when really pressing on. It's a relatively old design of tyre, but I think they are excellent VFM.

Ever asked Pirelli if they have changed the rubber mixture or type? I would bet a pint on that they have even if they won't come out with it. Old design don't mean alot.
Strada is good tyres, good enough for people to ride to the track, do a trackday and ride home again, if your beginner & inter(ish) on a typical spring or autumn day.
Anyone who says Diablo Stradas don't grip is talking out of their ar5e.
This is what you can do on them in intermediate group. My ex-girlfriend Tori on her Daytona 600:

I had Stradas on my Versys and they were great. Front lasted 10,000 and was replaced with 3mm left when I swopped for Michelins, and the rear did 6000 before I replaced it ahead of time because I didn't think it would make it to Malta and back. I sent that rear to Fenjer and I think she managed another 6000 out of it before it was done for.
If in the wet its good enough for Witham to get his knee down . Its plenty good enough for anyone in hear.
