I am looking to get a good tank pad, my current is a little small and I think I might end up scratching my tank eventually.
Also interested in getting some grip pads for the side of the tank, what ones does people use on here? Thanks in advance.

I was given a lovely one (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KEITI-Motorcycle-Yamaha-Suzuki-Honda-Tank-Pad-KT-8260-/220845549930?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item336b6ba96a#ht_2296wt_1186)by the wife last year and it is lush. Quality is very good and price seems OK for a nice Gel pad.

Thanks for the link Jayne, looking something a little more subtle/plain if you catch my drift. Very nice all the same, what colour is your SV?

nip over to svrider and sign up then have a word with bighammer who makes/sells good cheep pads. if you speak to him nicely he might even make custom ones for you :-)
he has sold hundreds of pairs and not one complaint.

I have stomp grips on my tank, and the genuine Suzuki tank pads look cool. The stomp grips work well.

My bike is a lovely Silver colour, but following an accident last year it needed to be resprayed, the one I was supplied by the respray company was grey/silver and had the SV logo printed into the gel, but I did not like it, so I sold to a cool bloke on here, who owns a similar silver curvy.
E-bay can be your friend for such things, I trawled for hours until I found two I really liked, a pink faery and a pale vampyre holding a rose. I chose the faery because she was prettier. It makes a statement and I now get teased by male friends who say my bike is just too girly for them to borrow!

Hate to side with them Jayne but it sounds a tad too girly for me too! lol

Very nice Andy!
Be warned doofus that some you'll see on ebay are absolutely pants.
Another snakeskin and stompgrip fan here although both will have worn my leathers slightly.

Apologies for necroing an old post, but i hath not found an answer....
Can you use the techspec pads for commuting in normal pants/jeans or will the pads ruin your pants as i have read that they tend to eat leathers?
15000 miles and 2 years using TechSpec Snakeskins, have only caused a small patch of scuffing on the inside left knee of my leathers.
IMHO - Worth it for improved grip on the tank.

I use them with textiles and they've been fine.

Just wanted to give this a bump. I bought some of these tank pads from Bighammer and they are fantastic quality. The pictures on the site don't do them justice. They were £20 delivered from the states and are as good quality as the Techspec ones IMHO. Can't believe I nearly paid £40 for Techspec or Stomp Grips!
Thanks for the recommendation Bibio :smt041
