Howdy All,
For any MTB'ers out there. We haven't had an Org trip for a little while. Sooooooooo, there has been talk for a while about going and visiting Afan / Glyncorrwg in South Wales. On the weekend of the 20th / 21st of October Lily is away, so I have a totally free weekend. Have spoken to DMC so decided to sort this. There are apparently some great trails which I have not experienced yet, but DMC and a few others on here have raved about them a great deal.
There is a campsite at the centre which has showers, bike wash facilities etc. It is £5 per night so very reasonable. If you fancy it then put your name down. If you want to stay then mention it and I am happy to contact the centre to make a block booking.
Current plan for myself is to pitch up late Friday, pitch tent by car headlight.....fun times on trails Saturday, drinkies Saturday night whilst hopefully talking of the many tale's from the day's riding with you all. Then another trail Sunday before heading home. Simples. Yes it may be a little chilly (unless we have a late Indian summer - last October was way above average), but nothing layers and booze cannot resolve!!!! :-D
Also, for anyone who fancies chucking themselves into this and does not have an MTB etc bike hire is available.
So.........who is up for it?

Sweet, nice one Drew ;)
I'm in, although might not camp as will be in Swansea that weekend anyway.
The Skyline cafe at Glyncorrwg is really nice, they do food all day and serve some proper hearty home cooked food and the portions are mahooooosive (and they sell alcohol) so don't panic about cooking stuff if you can't be arsed in bringing it all with you ;)

Wimp......all you need is layers and a decent sleeping bag. Plus, I may see if I can use one of their electric hook ups and bring along an oil filled radiator!!! :-)

Well, it is an idea, if they will allow tents to use the hookups. On their site it states they have 8 electric hookups for Caravans......but I have the hook up gear so should see no reason why I couldn't use one. Unlikely will be too busy on that weekend so should be able to.
If not, will all have to keep close and wear more clothes!!!! Hahaha.

Howdy all.......DMC and I are now booked on to the site. It only £5 per person per night.
The added bonus is that we are the only ones on site apparently!!! So we have electric hook up within the same charge.
If you fancy a weekend MTBing and larking around will be laff.

Righty ho, doubt anyone else fancies it, but we will be leaving from Glyncorrwg trail centre (not Afan!) at around 11am ish.
Plan is to do a combination of Skyline and Whites Level, so red graded. If anyone does suddenly decide they want to go send me a PM. Currently me and DMC and my best mate.

Well for those of you who couldn't make it for whatever reason, you missed a corker what with the weather playing ball and being perfect. I didn't camp with Drew & Dave but did manage to get a pass for both Saturday & Sunday, and although there were a few diversions in place due to environmental & new trail building reasons, Glyncorrwg didn't disappoint.
All in we did just under 30 miles over the two days and I rode a full bouncer for the first time in anger when I decided to book an Ibis Mojo HD demo bike for Sunday and had a blast on it, obviously it was amazing downhill but I didn't quite expect how good it would be uphill.
Nice one to Drew (Hans Dampf) & Dave (Piggy) :D for making the trip down, hope we can do it again soon with a few more bods being able to make it.
