Hi there, I have a full power ECU at the moment and cant find a restricted one anywhere (apart from the FI 200 quid one). I was just wondering if it was possible to reprogram my ECU or even better can anyone offer me a K5 single plug restrictor
I don't know the answer but my guess is if you could do it everyone in the 33bhp club on the forum would have done it! Do you need to restrict it because you did 125 license and haven't done the two years?

Not a good idea, IMO, if in the event of a crash/tug the ECU would look like a full power one.
Now a 33bhp one remapped to full power on the other hand...
The FI ones make the bike run crap.
Better to wait out for a proper one.

Truth be told I have no idea.
The ECU can be remapped to some degree but whether that is a full reflash (yes 33bhp doable) or just some limited adjustements which can be made I don't know.
Fair enough. I never read about people playing with their ECU, but then i guess i never really see much playing with carbs either. Not dedicated threads anyway.

Because it's usually hidden in "got bike dyno'd/tuned" threads. Playing with carbs is lots easier.

I'm in the same boat - 33bhp single plug ECUs are like rocking horse sh*t at the moment. I've just ordered a kit of washers + throttle stop off eBay to get me on the road (kickstart engineering, not FI, so only £45). Worth a go, I reckon.

Thanks for your replies everyone, i did my test on my 125 (I'm 17) so yes I have to be restricted. Looks like ill have to wait it out to find an ecu

Didn't Barwel have one of his ECU's redone for the rev limiter fault on K3/4?
But its not worth it if you get tugged/ crash it. There is a big thread on that on here from about 2 years ago
Edit: Here it is (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=150503)

I'm really glad to see more companies selling FI sh*t at it's true value :)
