Yeah jusy removed the big number plate light, chopped off the excess and repositioned the number plate bracket. Dinner plate is too true ;-) going to order a nice illegal show plate and keep plate for mot's

I done exactly the same ill post some pics of mine, I just chopped all excess plastic off my number plate lol. I also cut the bottom of the break light lense to allow light onto the number plate at night as if you get the wrong police man it's 3pts/£60 fine for not showing your number plate.

Sorry to post on an old thread, but how did you get the number plate to sit at a suitable angle using the original bracket? I'm thinking of doing this to my SV but am a bit worried that the number plate will just sit flush and foul on the rear wheel.

Pretty sure something like that would be an MoT fail as I don't see a reflector. Most people removing the snow plough fit a small round stick-on one to the plate. Also, don't forget removing the plate light will be a fail too - add a smaller lamp somewhere so the plate remains illuminated.

My plate is a standard one & looks a bit better with a tail tidy.
