I'm still looking for a new bike (around 4k budget). I like this two and wondering if anyone got a expierience with them and how they compare. I've changed my job recently and I'll be commuting on it every day, all year round about 50 motorway miles each day. So whats the opinions?

both good bikes, but not what i would call all year round commuter bikes,i would say a bandit 600/650 or vfr would be more suited to commuting and between 1 and 2k budget would set that up,
but what do i know, thats only my opinion

I had a C1H. Nice bike, great engine (636), decent build quality. I sold mine for less than £3k last year and it was low mileage so you can pick them up cheap.

That said, I wouldn't commute all year round on one although if 50 miles is the round trip that's not too bad. I used to commute 80 miles a day on SV and GSXR k2 and K6 but found the C1h less comfy and more front endy/wrist ache/crouched. It's not terrible but not ideal either. However out of the two you might find the C1H as a slight advantage when it comes to overtakes as you get a little more drive off the slightly larger engine, it's quick.

Ride both.

Quite different characters of bike, the CBR feels a bit more smooth and turbine like, the ZX6 a bit more snarly and top endy.

ZX6 is good motor but rear suspension nowhere near as plush as CBR.

I'll be commuting on it but still the main purpouse is to have fun on it and I'm not really bothered about comfort (I'm only 27 ;)

Definitly going to try them both before buying. I like the idea of top endy revvy bike, don't mind doing gear shifts a bit more often as well. i was even considering r6

You don't like GSXR's? That 600 the other week was brilliant mate definately recommend it. They are good bikes, one mate has been on two, month long bike trips on his K2 and its still going strong. If i sold my SV tomorrow the next bike i would be getting is K4 GSXR600 :p

A lot of bad comments re finish quality and I'll be using it all year. Only that puts me off

Personally I'd get the GSXR K5. Best one they made.

Still has a fun engine rather than the CBR which is almost dull in comparison with the others (it's still fast, but feels very honda like, meh).

Much better suspended than the ZX6, and comfy.

If you want a 600 don't ride a 750 K5 whatever you do or you'll almost certainly buy one. One of the best sportsbikes ever made, IMO.

Modern hondas, that reputation does not hold up like it used to. The old ones were a bit better than the rest fair enough.

i loved commuting on my c1h, be it only 20 miles ( a3 into town and all along the river ) and it never missed a beat, just watch out for the odd pot hole as its not the smoothest ride in the world but still not bad at all.
i find it quiet roomy at 6ft but just ride both and see what you like.

Although a bright green bike is always a good idea at some point.
