Cool looks like a good day was had?
Very much so Geo, was a great day and the weather was glorious. Estimate that theyre were 10's of thousands of bikes when we arrived. A good ride there and back

You weren't there when I popped my head in on the way back, they were just closing up.
Job went straight home from petersfield and I spent a bit of time dicking about on that roundabout.

The ride out of London from the Ace was....ace. The noise from hundreds of bikes was mental. Dented me tank dropping the bike against a tree in Brighton then saw this which has given me some ideas for future mods...

Next time I'll take a proper camera instead of falling back on my phone one, sorry guys.
You lot need to work on your photo composition. Clearly you were wanting to take lots of pictures of a nice beach; however most have motorcycles in the way. In fact for some you can hardly see the beach at all. The beach does in fact look quite nice if a bit stony any idea why it was so quiet when clearly the carpark was pretty full?
Not a true beach anyway. Never understood how loads of pebbles constitutes a 'beach'

They are crap. It's amazing how places like Bournemouth and Brighton have rambo beaches when, as far as the actual beach itself goes, they are the crappest in the whole of the UK. I suppose it's just they're close to population.

You're a bunch of lightweights. In my day we never had sand! What's more the pebbles were much newer so pointed. And covered in tar and smashed glass... You lot don't know you're born!
Even so the beach did look pretty deserted.

Bournemouth beach isn't TOO bad.
At least it is sand.
And Mark, it does take time for erosion to have an effect, in your day the sea hadn't had time to really get started.

I remember when this was all glaciers ........

Bournemouth isn't too bad, and it does have Boscombe down the road which is an amazing beach.
I think you're turning into a moaning old man just like Nathan ;)

It depends what you want from your beach. A good beach to me is rock pools, lots of jutting out cliff faces, caves, sand dunes and enough space to throw a frisby or play a game of footy. A crap beach is one where it's just a line of featureless sand, or when you have to walk for 5 minutes just to find a spot more than a few meters from everyone else!
you can get space, if you get there early. I used to be at the beach for 8am during the summer. Guaranteed to get the spot i want and a car park space.
I go to the beach for one reason, to chill out in the sun. Everything else is below that priority. Boscombe is good as you have a couple of places to choose to eat from, good amount of life guards, volleyball courts and other things you can hire too.
If you want to catch crabs go to Essex, you'll have more fun doing it

Ahh, I like the quietness. If it was just sun, I'd be happier with a nice hilly foresty clearing type area. Perhaps the new forest. Then you can go to some nice country pub for lunch, sit in a beer garden, or find a nice open bit of grassland. From my beaches I want caves and that tiny nagging doubt in the back of my head that I may get cut off and drown, otherwise it's no fun. :D
Ad like his crabs. Talk to him. :D

That too!!! I'll crash a remote control plane somewhere really inaccessible if you like. Just like old times!

Sounds like fun.
New forest is far too close and busy for a trip though, if it was earlier in the year then the lake district might not be bad.
