im not religious but if there is someone up in the clouds i do hope they are looking out for my best friend, unfortunately he ran into the wrong people after a party on friday night and was bottled in the face and stamped on several times, he is in southampton general now in intensive care :( he has had two operations already as he has bleeding on the brain, fractured skull and fractured eye socket, no idea if there is brain damage yet though so just hoping he recovers. how people can do this to an innocent 18 year old is disgusting and they just left him there for dead :@ makes me rather upset and angry

Scum mate. Proper scum. Hopefully they will be catch them. If not, I've seen less serious assaults on CrimeStoppers. If there's CCTV maybe write to the show.

Good luck to him. Fingers crossed.

Tossers, hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Half of these little ****s wouldn't say boo to a goose if they hadn't had 1.5 pints or they weren't with 6 or more of their little ****y mates, cowards that's all they are.

I would love to dish out same punishment to people like this, might make them reconsider next time.

That is dreadful news, I am so sorry to hear this. I truly hope that your friend recovers back to full health, but I suspect that the emotional trauma will take longer to recover from than the physical injuries. Best wishes and lets hope that those who did this to him meet justice and long prison sentences.

I hope that somebody finds the people responsible and does the same to them or worse!

I know how u must be feeling, a guy I went to school with had to watch his mum being murdered then got killed himself with a screwdriver just up my road!

Sorry to hear this Granty and very glad your friend is on the mend.

It is likely his mum will be pointed in the direction of support groups and it might be worth having a chat to her about things you can do to help him. I imagine whether he ever remembers the attack or not, it will take some time to get over the mental as well as physical scars.

I witnessed an attack like this which ended with the poor lad being in a coma for 3 weeks
They caught those b'stards and they all got heavy sentences, so I hope the scum that did this to your friend suffer the same.

Yeah I went round his house last night to see his mum and she's just in bits so I've said my phone is always on for them, have booked a few days off so will stay at the hospital as his mum has a business to run, but mentally he seems pretty hurt aswell :/

Try and speak to your local victim support group if you can. They may be able to tell you what you can expect to deal with in the coming weeks and months. It may seem a small.effort, but it can be very encouraging for someone to know that the feelings they are experiencing are normal and expected. Might help you and his family understand a little more what kind of emotions he is likely to go through and make you all better able to help him through them.

Cowards, bloody sickens me to hear of things like this.
The complete lack of valve for a fellows well being is astonishing.

These things need to carry significant sentences, a slap on the wrist does not equate as justice when you're victim will have to struggle with this for the rest of their life. Put the scrotes away with some proper bad men, lets see how they get on in there with them or better yet give them national service armed only with rock and stick the wasters on the front line as bullet barriers for the good men and woman out there.

Yeah his mum has been in contact with them, I'm in the hospital now so may not speak for a while but will update when I can

Glad to hear he is on the mend a bit now. I hope the little scrotes get what they're due. Cheese grater to remove them from the gene pool seems like a good start.

The victim support were really good years ago when I got attacked with a mate of mine. Our injuries were not as severe (mine certainly not), but still got loads of support. Very good on the mental side too, but thats another story.

Blimey,
So sorry to read this, what utter cowards and scumbags. Glad your mate is still with us, and it's obviously going to take some time to figure out the extent to which this will have affected him.

Fingers crossed for a complete recovery
