Over winter What mods are you thinking of doing to your summer bikes .
Me mirrors I can see more than just arms . and brighter indicators.

The mirror extenders you get from Chewy's are actually pretty effective, and only take 10 mins to fit. I was certainly pretty impressed with mine.

Got a list

MOT before it goes away
Put the toys sitting on top of the waldrobe into the front end
New rear shock, possibly new bearings in the knuckle
Tidy up of the subframes if they need it
Service the brakes

This.... or more likely new rear shock to cope with pillion and luggage, forks re-sprung and re-valved. I had Maxton on the previous VFR so might go that way again or maybe Nitron. Ohlins is too expensive. Some lessons learned from previous install will be put into effect. Probably will strip and re-grease all suspension linkages and swing arm bearings.

Goals(more like dreams) this winter:

SV650S : Oil change, full tank, battery on trinklecharge. One or two areas need a rattle can job. Rear brake service, new dust and oil seals. No changes during the winter, will not change anything until I've gotten back to the same speed I had on a good day this year(keeping a writen log when changes are done).
GSX-R 600 : Oil change, crank pos. sensor change out, maybe set manuall camchain tensioner. Remove the 'fast bikes' the previous owner put on, just having that name on the bike saps it of 1-3bhp:rolleyes:
CB750kz : Get one of them ready enough to get a Norwegian title for it.
Suzuki Harris : Get the heap of parts sorted into two bikes and check what is ok for the different classic racing classes they will be running in.
The local prison does sand/glass blasting and powder coating, and you only pay for the paint, labour is free, results are so and so, but who cares on a race bike.
Maybe start getting a rolling chassis done and go over one or two of the 4 engines for these bikes. 2 GS750 engines and 2 GSX1100E engines.

Anyone want to help out you're welcome to come and stay a week or four.

I'm thinking the longer arm RS125/250 .
As these don't have intergrated indcators it be a must to fit front indicators.

just before it goes away for the winter (first sign of frost) i do a partial strip and really good clean then gets coated in an overwinter spray. about March i start to put the bike back on the road.

start of next season will see

brakes striped and greased
front forks striped and cleaned with fresh oil and new valving
rear shock sent to Nitron for service and voodoo.
valve check (its due now but can wait)
bike giving a good going over checking all bearings, nuts, bolts etc.etc.

any goodies i can make at the workshop will get tried and tested on the bike then used till i know they work then manufactured and made available for sale later on in the year :-)

No time for mods, I'll be riding it every day. It'll only sit still if there's ice on the roads, then the Landy comes out to play. In the Octobet half term it should be getting a full service. The valves are long over due for a check, as are the carbs for balancing. There's a very good place just up the road who do the big service for £325, and that covers everything, a proper top to toe job.

started mine today. Wired the heated vest to battery. Saturday is oil change and working out why heated grips don't work. Next weekend change coolant, don't know what the last owner put in and don't want to risk it.

I've read good things about acf50 to stop the grit eating away at my bike.
