Evening all
Picked up my New SV650s yesterday afternoon from Folkestone and enjoyed a nice country road ride back up to Surrey - glad to have finally joined the club as I've wanted one of these since before I passed my test.
Going to put a few upgrades on this, starting with a new can and then a few tasteful mods.
Any suggestions would be awesome and appreciated - I think perhaps a tail tidy too?
If anyone is local to Surrey and knows of any meets - would like to get involved.
Thanks
Dan

Welcome, I found stomp grips to be a useful addition and also a fenda extenda if you don't already have one. Enjoy your new ride :thumright:

Welcome also from the Surrey area plenty of place when some of the Surrey lot meet best to start here http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=118 for ride outs or meets in the Surrey area.
As for Mods
Tail tidy
rear hugger
front fender
seat cowl (if your not taking pillions though)
double bubble screen
When i had my SV if your looking for a fairly priced can try scorpion there very good can for their price stubby or standard length both give a lovely sound with or without baffle.
If your planning on any sort of faster riding or track days in the future some rear sets (adjustable foot pegs) and upgraded suspension but there only if your intending on track riding mainly as your never push an SV hard enough on the british roads.
Thats all i can think of other wise just enjoy riding and stay safe.

WoooHoo welcome, you'r going to love it.
Hi Dan,
Great choice of bike. Pop over to the GM section (http://forums.sv650.org/forumdisplay.php?f=118) and keep a look out for ride-outs. Usually one on a Wednesday evening and another at the weekend. We're a friendly bunch and have given several newbies a warm welcome. We have of course tarred and feathered a few but hopefully you'll be lucky.
Where are you in Surrey?
Our rides are usually centered around Fleet, Basingstoke, Alton and Petersfield but we attract riders from a far broader area.

Come on, you can't say that you've bought a new bike without giving a few details! Age, mileage, price?
Wow. Nice in white. A white cowl would look impressive.

Nice bike, drop into the guildford section and you will find plenty of ride outs from the surrey area
lovely bike and welcome to the org.
list of mods in order of fitting:
my swingarm adjuster plates (your swingarm and tyre fitter will love you for it) :-)
a scottoiler (your wallet will thank you later)
fenda extenda and grease the front plug cap
suspension upgrade
a slip on exhaust
comfort bar kit
Revised list of enhancements to make to your bike:-
1. Get some miles in
2. Repeat #1 but with some other people too
3. Spend spare cash on fuel supporting enhancement #1 and #2
4. Once you've done lots of #1 and #2 you'll then have an idea of what bling/mods to add to your bike/kit
5. Then go back and do #1 and #2 lots more.
You'll find that in general there are people that worry and fuss over exactly what colour of annodised bolts to replace the factory one with and those that just get it running right then get out and ride. Generally those in the second group have the most fun!
Get yourself out to one of the Guildford Massive (GM) meets, we'll do our best to add #1 and #2 and generally abuse you for adding any unnecessary bling. Pop over to our section, post a "Hi" thread and let the abuse begin!
