One question, what is wrong with them?

I had a couple following me up the A329 through Winnersh this morning, in their trackies and hoodies, helmet but no gloves.

They were riding so close they may well have been sat on the pillion seat. Traffic was moving at a steady 35mph on a 40mph road and they are behind me trying to get past by going the wrong side of the traffic islands but their scooters don't have enough poke, especially as they are already do 35mph.

Then (this is the good bit) one of them tries to undertake me but doesn't realise that the line of traffic including myself have moved over to go round a parked car transporter sat outside the Mitsubishi garage, he clips the front passenger side (as it was parked facing traffic), wobbles like f*&k and carries on. He eventually filtered past at a set of light narrowly missing a pedestrian, then steaming of doesn't notice the car pulling out of the junction which the car in front has stopped to let out and narrowly misses the back end of this car.

The speed limit changes to 50mph and everyone filters back past him after all that.

Until August we lived in a Cul-de-sac, pretty much have lived in one my whole life until mid august when we moved into a new residential development and we're right at the entrance to it... I now hate scooter boys for a whole new reason, I honestly dont understand why they do so many small journeys. They'll come past on their way out of the estate, then 10/15mins later come back in again. Even if they're only riding 2mins out of the estate they're still only spending 11minutes at their destination... I simply dont understand it.

Natural selection will take its course, hopefully.

You'd hope so but I regularly come across the four-wheeled version between Wycombe and Bracknell on my commute. This idiot drives a Fiat 500 and just like underpowered scooter boys uses the wrong lane to jump the queue, cuts people up, tailgates and shows all of the other Small Man Syndrome traits. As soon as we get onto the main A404 or M4 though he sits at 60mph and we all pass him, waving our appreciation with a small percentage of our fingers! White Fiat 500 reg number N500ERO - watch out for it!!

Driving a fiat 500 he's obviously just upset that his special friend rupert has been playing away again and given him the clap.

I don't give them a inch on the commute (the buses don't either).
I've had them force their way past flat out, then I've passed them filtering 30 seconds later

This A329 goes pretty much past my house and sadly I see them quite frequently, seems there are a few scooterists that try and get themselves killed. I've seen them pulling wheelies and all sorts. Where does the speed limit head up to 50 though?

I'll be honest Im still quite impressed when I see them pulling wheelies.

that'll be the bricks they hang over the back wheel.
There was one near use that had a top box butchered on the back of it . It was that dodgy the jock didnt work , so we actually did fill it full of bricks. The muppet didnt know for months

That doesn't happen often just like with bikes- they're the ones that usually get hurt.

The only time I've ever been able to say I liked a scooter div was when I saw one out of my window being chased by about 3 police cars, a van and even a helicopter, all at about 30mph. Ten minutes later they came back down the road! Oh how I chuckled.

Natural selection will take its coarse, hopefully.

Unfortunately they have already fathered 3 chavlets by 16, therefore the only solution is to lower the scooter licence age to 10 so they die before fatherhood. Sad but true.

When they hunt in packs is their worst time. Last year, when driving the Discovery, there were about 8 of the lovely fellas following me through town. At all parts of the journey the furthest any of them got from the rear bumper was no more than a couple of meters. All I could see out the back was 8 helmeted heads. I had to really fight the urge to break hard. Will power!

Widepants: your a genius, did he not notice the scooter get heavier and slower?
SVrich: i did it when i had a little 1.0L car, but they would always choose, to go round me, or hit the kerb followed by face planting the pavements.

I used to have a scooter, and i never rode like a **** like they do these days, but then again my CBT instructor live 5 mins from me, and would come round and correct my riding if he ever saw or heard of me doing something wrong.

On the other hand slowing him down a bit would improve safety.

And/or he was a kn*b anyway and you couldn't do much to the bike to make him worse.

Lighten up man jeez!

Calling her a man probably won't help that I'll wager...

Can't lighten up I'm afraid. There are decent scooter learners out there along with the idiots, and any one of you did that to my daughter I'd be sorting it out. Best served cold and all that. We are all on two wheels and while a lot of thes epeople are idiots, they don't wear the right gear and can't ride, the last thing I'd want on my conscience is one of them dying because I cut them up on purpose or did something stupid to their bike.

Don't find "japes" about screwing with other peoples bikes or scooters funny, especially when they're young and daft and have no idea.

Hmmmm nothing compares to the time i stayed with my dad in croydon. I looked out the window and a moped was riding round and round the estate with one very young teen riding with helmet and 2 boys on the back with no helmet (rough ages 12 and 7) Interesting when a car came round the corner and they had no braking whatsoever.

Scarred me for life. Ive also never heard so much noise from something so underpowered. Was doing 25 tops.

barwel1992
22-09-12, 12:49 AM
my moped was fun could even get me pegs down :P (DNA 50) and would max out at 60mph down a hill

Most of the time if there on there mopeds then there not jumping old grannies down the under pass or hanging round outside shops, they hand around it ASDA car parks instead and usually have some pride in there ped so are usually quite careful with them or maybe thats just the lot round hear

i have had one or 2 try and race me of the lights on 125's recently
